About me
Sue and Shane of Kitesurf Nelson:

Shane started kiting in Nelson in 2000 after seeing Aaron Smith, New Zealand’s top ranked rider at the time, carving it up at Tahuna. He finished in the top 8 riders in the 2007 NZ Nationals. He has kited throughout NZ, in Europe and the South Pacific. He has a great technical understanding of the sport and can provide good insight into what equipment will suit you and help you progress onto the next level. Whatever style of riding you’re into, Shane will have some advice on how to get the best out of your gear.

Sue got into kiting in the UK in 2002. She was one of the first IKO qualified instructors in New Zealand and has taught kitesurfing in the UK and here, so knows all about the learning curve as you progress from just getting riding to boosting your first jumps and heading into the waves. She attended the inaugural Cindy Mosey Island Odyssey in Fiji in 2006, where she picked up lots of tips and tricks from the pro girls about how to tune gear to suit the size and weight of women riders, so feel free to ask her all about your set-up when you visit.
