1st time user here so don't go hurling the lame jokes ya hear
Seriously, how the freak do you dismantle a 4 line kite with handles so the next time you go out the lines aren't tangled. Ive heard about plastic endings for the handles but I would'nt know for the life of me where to find them. Any help in resolving this time wasting matter would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

Hey NeLsyBoy

Ah, the old tangle nightmare, we've all been there.... Seriously, I get kinda Zen-like these days with my tangles and get a sort of strange perverted pleasure from untangling lines...

But until you reach this advance state of trance-like kiting management, take a look at the following sites and see if they help...?

i've never used handles. but wat i do with a bar is undo the larks head knots on the kite end, pack kite way.
then larks head each line in order on to a 8inch steel tent peg ($2 outdoor shop)
stick the peg in the ground and wrap up the lines figure 8 style ( see ozone web site)

To unwrap, stick the peg in the ground walk backward unwinding. with the peg in the ground you can pull on it to help straighten the lines.

you can also run your fingers long each line to check for twists and danage.

at home i've four nails next to each other in the fence i sometimes use to check the lines.
larks head one line on each nail
don't pull the lines tight but let them hang down a bit, if they dont hang togeter one or more may be stretched, make sure their not twisted first as is can shorten lines by alot.

i somtime use a cordless drill to untwist them

hope this all helps

Try this one
I only use this method but with a little variation
Try it out and once you get the hang of it it makes takeing the kite out a breeze(Excuse the pun)

leave the lines on the kite? and roll the handles up in the kite.

yeah yeah one set of lines and multiple kites makes this a pain....
harbour boosting, sideways buggying, harwood speed gps'ing, sometime kiteskiing, wave/washing machine kiting, gear breaking, driving about chasing the wind....

Its not rocket science....
Jus wind the lines tightly around the handles and wrap up in kite.... easy..
Jus make sure you unwind with the same hand you wound up with or there will be one twist in the lines for every time you loop it off the handles.

What i do is just keep the lines attached and roll them up.

Next time you go out unroll them and even if they are twisted launch the kite and and fly it to 12 o'clock and just spin under the kite until your lines are untangled.

yeah, the back lines on my 3.5 bulet twist when flying :? one clockwise and the other anti-clockwise :? can be about 20 times per half-hour

so the cordless drill comes in handy, it never happens to the front ones.

Anyone got an idea bout this :?:

I've found the easiest way now is to peg the handles and fold the kite at the other end keeping the lines straight. Tuck in the bridles and then roll up the kite. Now stand with
rolled kite and lines tight. Walk towards staked handles rolling the line around kite using thumbs in the ends of the kite to rotate until you get there then pack away. Easy and doesnt tangle. Life is Good!

Thanks for all the advice and tips y'all
