Nah - we are alive, just very busy.

Had Chris and crew from www.highasakite.co.nz in town this week. We got a couple of sessions on Ruakaka Beach in NE, trying out all the new MBS boards and Ozone kites - very nice kit too! The 12m Frenzy is a grunter in 9 knots...

Cheers,

DK

I would love to get one of those frenzys but going to invest in a new kitesurfing kit instead.Starting off with a kite which has to be bigger than my lousy Naish X2 10m which actually hasnt been to bad lately with the nice strong winds we've had since i got back from welli.Had a full on day today with some KGB in the morning and then a nice sesson at the pooey which actualy was a bit gusty.

Oh and i FINALLY managed to get a smooth looking surface handle pass. Thanks to your teaching and just want to say thanks again.

later mate

Hi Ben,

Mate - it should be a big 'thank you' to you and Chris for making the trip north. It was great to catch up with you guys, even if the wind was a little on the light side.

Funny thing is yesterday we got out on the water at Karoro road - I was POWERED on my 8.5m kite! Was something like 30k from the SW.

Today Su and I took the day off and went to the west coast, we were looking for a wave session, but the wind at Baileys was only 8-14knots? When we packed to go it was more like 25 knots so we left our big kites at home - opps!

It turned out to be great luck tho - we instead grabbed the mountain board (me) and buggy (Su) and did the coast run south to Glinks Gulley - about a 40km round trip all up.

Awesome afternoon, crusing at 40km/hr or so, checking out the beach and talking to a few locals etc.

Maybe next time you are up we'll all manage a session over there???

Cheers,

Dave

Glad you guys have finally discovered the Ozone kites back there. I just had an email from Matt Taggart saying how much of a good time he had with you guys. The 12m Frenzy really is an awesome beast. I love mine to bits, Insane pop and the float is second to none. Had mine out yesterday buggy jumping in 18mph winds. LUSH! My fave is still the 10m though. Its quick and boosts huge, as well as looping fairly sweetly too....
Hope you guys get a few more chances to try out the gears.

A big thanks to DK and SU for all the local info and good times last week, were still grinning!!!!
Ruakaka is a top spot and the Crew at Ruakaka Kite sports will give any of you in KGB land a top welcome, get on up there your've got two coasts within 1.5 hours apart and miles of wicked kite country in every direction. The fishing is pretty good as well.

We'll be back before you know it with the boot full of toys, I have a feeling Josh wants too beat you to that 12m DK, looks like the 5m Frenzy's already got his name on it. Great to see a future kiter in the making.

Cheers All and a ripping New Year from all the Crew at www.highasakite.co.nz

Back from Q-town.... a whole week with out even seeing a kite, let alone ride one, (whats up with those southern boys..??)..!!

Man, I've got some severe withdrawl symptoms..., I plan to hit the beach hard if I can get my board back from Kiter...

With the way the weather is going we wont be seeing much kiting any time soon.On monday evening when the northerly kicked i went out for a kitesurf and saw some KGB'er doing a downwinder but didnt know who it was.was it you kiter?if not then it looks like we got a new kiter on the scene.lately ive been talking to so many people on the beach who want to get into it cause its an easy alternative to kitesurfing.

apparently its supposed to get 15 knots this arvo and 10 knots 2mrw arvo and this fits in with the tide nicely.yesterday wen i looked at the weather it did not say anything about NE but the changed it today like they usualy do so lets hope it gets better.

cya hope to see you out there spig.havent seen you in ages.txt me or call me at 027 4139673 if ya need to get hold of me.
