Location: New Brighton Closest Town: Christchurch Beach or Inland: Beach Surface: Hard packed sand Space: 15kms north of the Pier, 8kms South Best Wind Direction: NE / ENE/ E Notes & Issues: Usable 3 hours before & after low tide. 10-50m wide depending on the tide. Watch out for the Pier..! Some outflow pipes and concrete obstructions near Wiamari Beach Surf Club. Occassional driftwood & seaweed after storms.

Closest Town: Dunedin, Out by St Kilda Beach
Beach or Inland: Beach
Surface: Grass
Space: 10 Rugby Fields
Best Wind Direction:S, SE, SW, NE is gusty
Notes & Issues:Dog poo, dogs, dog walkers. Soccer or touch might have the fields booked so then go somewhere else like the other parks further south. Steep banks on North and West sides. Not much wind behind the dunes. The beach is soft and steep.

Space: Fuckin miles and miles, jus keep going till yer leg gets sore...
Best Wind Direction: Nor wester to souwester
Notes & Issues: Get on beach and hang a left to the wind zone.

Location : Avondale Race Course , West Auckland
Inland
Surface : grass
Space : Plenty
Best Wind Direction : Great in all wind directions
Notes & Issues : Sometimes used for Soccer / Rugby , look out for
tractor driven lawn Mowers !!! & ground maintenance staff

I am new to kiting and work in Avondale and try to get out at lunch time , presently got a Flexifoil Bullet & have just bought some all terrain Skates . also just about completed building a 4.5 m Inflatable from Zero Prestige website , loving the sport , i'm addicted , have meet one other guy here from the UK on a landboard & Blade, can't understand why it is not more popular ,seems to be big in UK .

Location: Bexley Park, Aranui
Closest Town: Christchurch
Beach or Inland: Inland
Surface: Cut Grass
Space: 4 or 5 football pitches worth
Best Wind Direction: All, (Good site when wind is out of the west)
Notes & Issues: This location is quite exposed with only limited trees around the individual pitches. Probably busy on the weekends, quiet during weekdays. Watch out for perimeter fence.

Location: Waikuku Beach
Closest Town: Christchurch
Beach or Inland: Beach
Surface: hard packed sand
Space: Approx 11kms
Best Wind Direction: E/ESE/SE/SSE
Notes & Issues: Another great sand beach with between 10-60m of rideable sand depending on the tide. No obstalces except the occasional bit of driftwood, and no too many beach-goers unless it's really sunny. Watch out for soft sand north of Waikuku and the mouth of the Ashley River.
