so next week the moon will closer to earth than its been in 18 years, and next weekend it will be a full moon, so whoos coming moosing? massive low tides right up untill just about sunset, moosing dosnt get better than this..

weather looking fine saturday and good for sun..

as good an excuse to go as any and should be an awsome sight for a bonfire in the eve.

will be leaving saturday avro from the muriwai sandtrap at 12pm... back on sunday anytime fron 1pn till 5pm..

bbq will be their and some shelter as usual, hopefully someone will bring some beer

will have a spare buggy if anyone needs one..

I'm thinking about going to the Mini Moose on Friday (AM low tide) and setting up camp, as Fri forcast is for a NW, which makes the lagoon perfect! currently Satuday is looking like a S to SSW

wich camp you going to, old or new? i was gonna head to the new and either go in the bowl round the back or somewher there on a hill so we can see the sea from camp and watch the sun go down, see it you can find a primo spot bro...otherwize ill just unload anywhere nearby and go get the fire wood..

hehe.... reading that heading must sound really strainge asd a newbie!!

the moose meet is a kiting event held every year at the south head of the kaipara harbour at the north end of muriwai beach.

Its an epic location, vast dunes hard flat beach, lagoons and surf for the water boys and it can be kited in any wind direction.

So.... the south head of the kiapara harbour is now affectionatly known as the the moose land for all that have been to the moose meet before!.

PS put the moose meet onto your callender as a kiting event to do before you die! its worthy indeed.

Moosing ! . I was told that the name mooseland for this area came about in the early days of kiting when some of the lads were kiting at night and all you could see from camp was buggys going past with the pilot holding the handles in the
air that looked like antlers.
