TOPIC: Where the Hell was Al?

Where the Hell was Al? 1 year, 4 months ago #26153

I just got in from a fantastic session at Raglan. Al's van was in the carpark with his buggy on the rack. I was there for 3 hours and I didn't see any sign of him. Abducted I'd say.

I'd say he was indulging in the dark side Charlie. Stepping into liquid. Was there any Al shaped kitesurfers on the water?

That's what I'm thinking... if Charlie was lit there must be enough for Al on the 9m.

AAAAAAWWWWOOOOOOOOHOOO!!!!

BACK from a totaly awsome adventure, 2 weeks out of auckland in the van driving the west coast, did over 2000k ...diddnt get bitten by a dog dut did get sunburn but saw heaps of chicks in bikinis in doing so..awsome.

have to admit i am actualy in the "overtaken by that bloody landboarder" club
shamefully toasted on hometurf, nuking the moose of all missions, very bad form...blade fury killed my mojo.

never the less...unrelenting goodness, xmas day....fitzroy with charlie and the plumbtree awsome awsome day, couldnt believe my look...
most of the newplymouth xmas missions have really melted into one mass of memory...i really had quite a hangover, one time i remember having a ball with the 2.2n-gen well powerd and flitting around a the rocks and the next im flopping a downwinder with the 6.6blade with plummet unable to make it home after reaching the end of the beach!! huge walk of shame, whole lenth of fitzroy but there really wasnt much wind, plummet gave a vallient effort but the wind really had gone...
diddnt stop the 8m monster c-quad....charlie you should sew some angel wings into that skin, or a red bull!!! never met a kite that could pull that hard in no wind....amazing thing.
amazing spooky nighttime session with plummet shortcoursing round an actual invisible log and something eles!!

newyears eve/day kitesurfing in

maps.google.co.nz/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8...495&t=h&z=15

this place, hightide made for waist deep flat lagoon water but very limited space, only 100 m wide by 400 deep...tiny but heaps of fun..ange stood up for the first time and also got first lofting...
then into ragas and hook up with charlie again for one of the most amazing sessions ever, perfect day and perfect 4m weather...on the v-max just booting around charlies beach...some awsome racing and a bit of nutbuster practice...charlie that was an epic session...

BUT i had learned all about the raglan outgoing tide trick, so the day after i was indeed kitesurfing in amasing flat water with a sea breese on a 9m shockwave...had to work the bugger and could only stay upwind during a squall but on my god what awsome session, got into my first heelside to toeside switch sorted and was busting out some awsome toeside carves...i can actualy ride better toeside than heelside, i think this comes from snowboarding where toeside is my fave..just gotta learn to ride the waves now!!

thanks to charlie and plummet for awsome kiting as usual, and to raglan for showing me the way..
