After many hours of sticky fingers, the dream of a carbon L.Link fork is here
we (Jimmy,Dean and myself) have made the moulds and jigs to fab this stronger, lighter
front fork, that fits a duo tyre with 7" wide asso rim
It's about 3.5 kg with all bolts inc. front axle.that is about 3.5 kg lighter than my
s/s one.so my carbon buggy weight is now 15 kg with out wheels, all bolts inc.

it seemed like we were making a whole buggy if thats what you mean, hats off to gannet for a high level of craftsmanship, there are a lot of things you cant see that make one of these, there is even a a jig for the t nuts. some items are already getting tweaked again but mainly an extra for experts mission, geometry is already sorted and it looks amazing in the "flesh"
:pinch: Warning: Spoiler!
. im really hopeful tomorrow will be a good day at bbbb, might see you all there

don't worry i fully understand whats gone into making this. its a freaking work of art. I spent hours and hours making my carbon bodies for the trucks and those where simple as compared to this.

I've made the decision to go to raglan tomorrow so if your there you will see me. i'll turn up around 1.

my max speed for the day was 78.9 kms on big foots.

yup, very soon. I need to sort my leg lengths
as I like bent legs for jumping and tricks.
and flat legs for speed
and somewhere in the middle for the dunes.
so I have to sort all my foot pegs first

and a carbon mud guard for the new L.L fork as well
back to the workshop I go

the only down side we have found so far is the price, with $ 860 nz dollars of material each one + labour.
we can do them at $ 1200 nz each.or $1100 each for orders of 5.(all bolts inc.as per photo)
+ $ 200 nz for titanium 20mm front axle

can look at it this way ,how much do you pay for mountain bike carbon forks,or that last kite you got

how many soul's??

i think they are the sexiest buggy part IN THE WORLD!!

the only suggestion i have is a footpeg issue iv had for ages and applies to all forks, not just these...and that is what is it with wide footpegs? racing drivers dont have steering wheels as big as bus ones for a reason, you lose feel, ALL buggy forks are wide as hell and dont need to be, you end up steering with your whole leg instead of your toes....now i know its personal but i cut mine down so the inside of my foot actualy touches the fork leg and i have straps that hold my toes in and actualy steer with my toes, and i love it for its sensitivity and the fact i dont have to move my body or whole leg to steer, im positive im onto something with it...thats my footpeg rant....HUGE FOOTPEGS ARE THE DEVIL!!!!

love you work gannet, think you are buggy building GOD.

I hear you there,I already made them 100mm in total shorter then my s/s L.Link forks.

but in saying that the foot peg bolt on and can be made to suit the pilot.

perrin has the carbon fork for testing and I welcome anyone to try, test or break it
It needs a good hard moosing

now how can i fit it too my landboard? i want to test it! ...
thats some cheap labour rate gannet. you need to post some picks and prices on the euro web sites. bet those buggers would be prepauired to pay. that is ofcourse if you want to produce them for $$$.

hehe Al you could mount a foot pegs of your headset aka mountaon bike style and then your could have your feet as clsoe as you like. it would look abit west coast chopperish. haha.

If Perrin and Gemmi can't kill it she'll be fine.

Plummet... just come out and ask for a buggy!

Can't wait to see the accessories(rest of the buggy) that goes with the fork!

Tides look good for an afternoon low and a local at Orewa this weekend if the NE'ly comes about! Still have not run my new barrows in... nor my new kites!
