Yeah I'm still here, been real busy.
Currently on my teaching course, and with the crappy winds, only been out in some low wind gustyness.
I might give hallswell quarry a crack, the wetlands area there is defo big enough, and with the crap winds at the beach it can't be any worse.

got lofted about 4meters the other week I was down there, quite fun but heading towards the sea like that ain't so fun

i hear what your saying. i've had sweet fa good wind in the last couple of months. i've had a tone of SE winds. which are offshore and gusty as hell. so crappy i refuse to fly in those conditions.
even the onshore winds are henious. the last session fluctuated from 14 to 33 knots....

Also been out mountain biking quiet a bit with Nate. If anyone else is keen we go out on a tues night round bottle lake and up the hill at the weekends weather permitting so if your keen PM me.

Though i am sick this weekend have a head cold so not feeling to flash at the mo and my car went to the wreaker yesterday so on the look out for another and that takes time. It is that time of year were you have the time to give your kit a good going over and some repairs. I need to pull out the bearings on my buggy and repack them with grease in the hope it will be a little quiter as you can hear me coming from a kilometer away. Also need to patch my reactor as well as i put some more holes in it again and its turning into one of those kites that just gets nailed all the time.

Anyway been itching to get out and think a trip to birdlings is in order where the blokarts go, but never seems to be the right weather either no wind and fine or gusty southerly with rain.

5m gaps in the dark i wouldn't even atempt them in day light. I just ride with a 20w IRC halogen powered by a brick SLA battery, which is also very good for night kiting and lighting up single light show kites at the nelson kite festival back in Jan.

This is the best pic i could get its the sunmoon one of the peter lynn show kites
