www.racekites.com/howto/howto.asp

also ask us any questions you need to know and we will inject you with advice.

learn to kite first.
get a 4 line 4m to 5m low aspect ratio kite like a peter lynn pepper
buy a $200 cheap landboard off trademe and then we will discuss getting started on the board.

look for a hard beach with clean onshore winds around 10 to 15 knots.

the stupidest thing to do is go out in winds too high for your kite/skill level..... get a wind meter and learn what are the good and bad winds.
also learners tend to fly tiny kites and try to learn to board in high winds. your way better off with a bigger kite in lighter winds.

I got the trainer just for learning to control a kite so that I have a better idea of how a larger one will react when I do get one for boarding,I've heard plenty about learners trying too much when they first start out so I'm just gonna take it easy

if you haven't done any mountainboarding before. practice that too without the kite. find a mild glass slope and get to used to how it works.

each time you step up in size and power you will have to relarn some of your flying techniques. you can get away with alot more on a tiny kite to a big powerfull beast!

don't let that stop you its all good!

keep up the good work ferral , 15knots is a good wind speed for a 2m kite and your skills. if the wind is not so much have some fun (kite only) and keep doing the figure 8 turns with the kite, they come in handy.
