for me a clean 16-18knots is the most glorious. ... . grunty enough to get me in the air and going fast on the board but not stupidly overpowered and scary.

15plus is good to get going and decent jumps

25-30knots (steady) for best results with the 11.5. massive air, loads of time to redirect

15-20 Knots for me but has to be steady. I found this about perfect for speed runs in the buggy.

30knots+ its time to go home in the buggy because even with a 2.6m in a standard buggy you spend all your time fighting the sideways pull and thats only fun for so long then its just hard work.

wholy brass kahuna's batman.

and you can hold 25-30 knots static on the 11.5 sabre?your brass nuts must be alot heavier than mine.

in 25knots on the manta II 10m fully trimmed with the kite at the edge of the window i'm still getting dragged down the beach. And the manta is VERY forgiving. Ironically its easier to be on the board the standing static at those wind speeds. If i tried to hold those winds on my old 10m frenzy it would dragg me for miles (i presume your sabre is similar power but more than my old frenzy!!!)

22-25 knots. 8m synergy, finless thin tipped TT. Has to be a bit southerly. I like to feel a bit of aggression in the wind...

In saying that, 12-14 knots with a 12m synergy on max power cross onshore is a dream. Flying out 200m offshore in a light breeze is very surreal...

27-30 knots is also good with my secret weapon homebuilt arc... Should really crank it out, hopefully the wind picks up this summer...

Clean 15 is super nice for me with a 12m LEI gives nice sized airs with heaps of float to boot.

On the water about the same but with a 10m kite for quicker flight....and nice waves have to be there for me...

Mbnmac: I really want to fly with you.....But tou best lower your expectations a bit....25 aint that common in chch well not nice ones. But i aggree that 20 is just awesome as you get that awesome amount of lift and float.

iv been out at 40knots an that just the stupidist thing ever since you mostly just stand their pointing at all the sand collecting in the vents of your kite.
best session ever on the buggy was a 30knot day where i went 80kph in a huge sideways drift all the way down muirawai, that was epic.
most fun i recon is around 15/20 knots with the 3/4m foil just for all out flying pleasure and good speed.

although Al would know... ALs ngen is the fastest i have ever seen, fully rebridled and kitted with the best lines all round, better than original. But wait till the "vapor" gets here.

Hey northernal,

The arc I was talking about was a little 2.2 race buggy kite called the speed, you can find plans for them here.
www.wingine.com.nl

It's crazy. One of the most intense kites that I have ever flown.

Never really had a go on the older Ngens. I reckon the best kite for buggying would be something like an F arc, but those only came in two sizes... big and CRAZYBIG!

I've been through the generations of arcs. Best for me was the 13m scorpion, or perhaps the 9m phantom... Nowadays I mostly fly synergies, all of which are incredible. Love em.

Cheers, Will

Just got back from Melbourne, been kiting every day almost for the last 10 days. Used the Speed 2 12 meter for most of the time, 18 knots with the trim strap out is really good, but mid 20,s with the strap in is awesome.
Just to clarify I was on the water.........
