thats pretty hard out.
i'm not set up for 40knots. the max i'll go out in is 20ies gusting to 30 on the venom.....

above that i go home.

mind on the board i find i don't really enjoy high wind little kite action. you go from nothing fall off the back of the board to get yanked over the front in a hardheat........

your talking about inland conditions, no such problem at the beach unless the wind is from a funny angle like SE or NW sometimes has that issue around here.

Mistakes take on a whole new dimension with little kites too. They accelerate and fly faster, loop faster than the eye can see so when you wipe out one hand on a handle and the other just out of reach while getting dragged backward, upside down and under a buggy... erm yeah... not much fun!

But because of their flight speed I believe they are the secret to going fast in a buggy. You never reach the point where you go as fast as your kite will ever go and you start to overtake it. Either that or fast SLE or hybrid kites that have full depower. My 11m Ozone Instinct has been out in ~40 and is scary fast on the water... like "4m C-quad on a 2m underground directional ahead of a NW'erly squall" fast!

Nah, stuck home nursing a head cold. Only back to work at the mercy of psuedoephidrine. Had good intentions to test some foils and put up some static kites at the Matariki display. Missed some good sports from the sounds of it.

Wind here wasn't that great either due to the low clouds and heavy rain most of it passed us. The evening frost on Sunday was interesting though. Once the rain passed and the sky cleared the temperature just plummeted.

with a s/e wind coming straight of the mountian then hitting my house at gusts up to 48 knots it was pretty bitter indeed. however i was inside dealing to the boys 1st birthday party. which was by all accounts probably more fun thantrying to battle those conditions.

The last report I head here was 50 rising to 60 and then the power went out, apparently it was gusting over 70 knots
I reckon if I got out on the deck and started flapping i could have cleard the fence with room to spare ,the rubbish bin didn't seem to have much trouble

I've had lots of fun there. Just respect the locals. Some souls have run to close to the marai and may have gone to far into the kumera patches collecting shouts from their new spectators. There's enough room to play without all that!
