Welcome to beautiful New Zealand nick, (or when you arrive later on )

I am sorry i cant tell you about where you can buggy in wellington as i have never been there myself and dont know anyone that has buggyed there.

About insurance...unlike the UK you will not need insurance at this point. We are still open with no bans on beaches and i would like to see it stay that way into the future.

Any other questions then just ask someone should be able to help.

Hi Nick
Where abouts in Wales you from, I spent 9 years in South Wales, RAF St Athans. I'm moving back to NZ in April after 3 years in the Pacific Islands.
Cant comment to much about buggying in Wellington, beaches are few and far between, but if you go 1 or 2 hours North on the West coast there is miles and miles of lovely flat hard sandy beaches and you have them pretty much all to your self.
After coming from an overcrowded UK your in for a treat and the locals are real friendly to. Its not called gods country for nothing. Best Country in the world I reckon, and thats coming from a POM!!!!
Cheers Dixie

Hello Dixie
I am living in small town called Chepstow which some people say is the gateway to Wales and has a interesting Castle.
Its the first town over the border from England.
I can see the old Severn Bridge from my bedroom window which the most expensive toll bridge in the UK It costs 5.30 to cross!
I have loads of interesting photos on my web site of local area..Worth a look at www.nickthechef.co.uk

Cant wait to see some flat hard sandy beaches and I am looking forward to met some really friendly locals

Good Winds
Nick

Hi Nick.
I know most of Wales as I played soccer in the welsh leagues for years.
Keep in touch and nearer your time to coming out here, if there is anything you want to know, just ask.
Cheers
Dixie

Hey nick.

theres alsmost no land kiting to be done in wellington its self.

yourl need to head north up the West coast to at least waikanae from there its basically hard beach for 100km or so with a onshore wind usually. Tho you can't do a 100km run as theres many rivers/streams along the way.

i travel to wellington once a month from new plymouth would be keen to show you the beaches down that way. My suggestion is Waikawa beach its wider and more onshore winds than waikanae.

Hello Plummet.
Thanks for the information I have some very old friends that live in Paraparaumu and that doesn't look far from the start of Waikanae..
So that looks like area to live to buggy!!!

I see there a local Blokart club that use the beach..

Are there many people kite bugging in New Zealand as I havn't seen that much information on the net about this wonderful sport of Kite Buggying apart From good old Peter Lynn who I saw last September at the Bristol kite festival. He comes over here most years..

Good Winds
Nick

theres very few people doing it nz wide and hardly any in the lower north island. in 12months i have seen no one buggying/landboarding down waikanae way (tho i'm only there once a month) and two other guys landboarding in new plymouth. There is a group of guys buggying in auckland who go out quite often.

search for blue balls and the moose meet those are two events organised in the north island for buggiers/landkiters.

When are you in nz?
