I know that tim from kitesports has a twister and i think he uses it regually when he goes out landboarding. Althought the one that he uses is a 7m or something close to that.

I flew whatever it was and found it to be quite slow on the turn compared to my blade which made jumping hard. cant really give any more knowledge on it as havent flown it quite enough to say sorry.

Are blades good for getting air?

I would love a land kite with some lift!

Blades have to be the best foil for getting air, i mean thats what they were made for. If you are ever riding when im out you can have a go on mine.

so the synergy isnt a foil then ?

The reactor turns twice as fast as the (size for size) blade but nowhere near the ammount of lift. Blade 4 is a great kite, as is the venom series for land boarding.

No the synergy is not a foil as such, its another of PL's twinskin arc kites..... which i dont class as a foil.

Yes the reactor is fast but it does not lift very much. and when it does its explosive and has no decent amount of float. Dont get me wrong it will lift ive seen it in action buggy jumping its just not what it was designed for.

I guess you would expect the 7.7m to be a little slow because of its size. Which Blade are you comparing it to? The 6.6?

well said man, well said...

It's good to see some other PL lovers out there in the land of the long white cloud. 8)

As for the PL bridled foils (reactor, twister etc) they are cheaper than most other kites out there on the market and FAR cheaper than something from Flexi or Ozone.

But that doesn't mean the quality is any different! The bridles are all fully stitched, proper reinforcing on the vents and clean construction overall.

As for jumping, the twister was designed as a lifty and fast kite. You will not be disappointed with the performance of this kite if you want to get airborne!

Yes comparing it to similar sized blade. I know it was alot slower turning and the power wasnt quite as nice. jumping was certainly alot harder with it. It will jump and is alright just i did not find it anywhere near as nice.

theres a right up on the 5.6 twister in the latest powerkite mag

Re: Peter Lynn Twister 5.6 4 years, 3 months ago #16293

Hi, I use 7.7m Twister & love it! There are other kites I could use, but I choose the Twister because it's awesome! The lift is huge & the kite does everything I want it to do while landboarding, I fly it on handles for max. control & that's something I would always recommend. The 5m would definately be the one for most people & have a much better top end (I know I'm wishing I was on the 5 when it's 17knots!) The Blades are lifty too, but require alot more arm work, Peter Lynn kites are a bit more subtle in the steering....but who cares, whatever does it for ya!
Synergy....simple, best 'twin skin' kite ever made!
