In conjunction with our club the 'Canterbury Windsports Association', KITESPORTS is sponsoring the weekly 'Kite Club' every Saturday afternoon (weather permitting). We'll have foil kites, buggys & landboards available for newcomers to our awesome sport to 'Have a Go' under the watchful eye of fellow CWA members who already kitesurf, kite buggy or kite landboard.
We'll have 'times & tides' posted at the shop at 950b Ferry Rd, phone 3845310, or contact Tim on 021 542 770.

Saturday morning proved to be an epic session on the water for the 20 so riders I counted at the Estuary. The wind dropped back after lunch, but filled in again for the CWA kite club at South Brighton beach at 2pm. Great to see so many turn up (ya get that when its windy) landboarders, buggy riders & kitesurfers ripping on the water! Plus, we got heaps of newbies along flying foils & having ago on landboards. Later after I packed up I headed to North Beach, the wind was all over the place, but soon went sideshore Northerly, EPIC session 20-25 knots, good surf cleaned up nicely with the side shore wind, keep it coming....

This Saturday the 27th we are having the CWA open day at the Estuary. We'll have BIG display kites, kite demos, new kit, foil kite flying, boot sale (bring your old kit to sell off) sausage sizzle (Cookies onto that), coffee truck, BIG sounds, naked dancing girls (not really), naked kitesurfing (once Cookies finished on the BBQ), & maybe even a 'Retro Kitesurf' (fly the old kit you just bought, I'll bring my C-quads)
So, from 10am to 2pm come checkout what your clubs about!

This weekend being 'show weekend' is the annual Lake Clearwater Camp, inland from Mt Somers, about 1.5hrs from Christchurch. There will be a huge group camping out Fri, Sat & Sun, the weather looks clear all weekend, just need it to blow!!! Bring everything you need except your dog!

Show weekend we had a great time camping up at Lake Clearwater. Wind direction for the three days was from the East, with kiteboarding everyday, Fri light up to 15 knots, Sat gusty 20, Sunday hitting 25 by late pm. Great weather, great crew...you should of been there!

The wind has been pumping in Christchurch!

Last weekend there was a very slight NE, pushed back by a NW bringing a 35 degree heat wave.....few!
Mid afternoon the Westerly kicked into action, & the Domain on the East side of our beautiful estuary (no weed on this side) blew into full swing. Solid 25 knot plus winds, incoming tide, 16 or more kiters cooling off under the summer sun through till the evening...ya gotta love it!

This weekend we have the 'Canterbury Kiteboarding Champs' out westside of the Estuary, so come check out the kiteboarding action, & big kite display sponsored by 'Peter Lynn Kites'

Saturday the 9th there was hardly any wind at the beach, so we headed to the Estuary for the afternoon. A light NE seabreeze & a few keen kiters to introduce to our sport & some buggying in the paddock. Thanks John & Craig for your consistent support & help.

Had the heads up from Master Yoda himself....
Big winds forecast for the weekend, so last weeks cancelled 'Yoda Comp' (due to poor weather) is now moved to this weekend up at Waikuku Beach & is a Wave Event! yee harr....
Also, all kite buggy & landboarders welcome, more the merrier!
We will be camping out over night at the camp ground, & I'm betting Yoda will be shaking his bootie Sat. night! (hopefully the Mankini stays under wraps)
