Ok team, I have spoken to Spig and Belac, and i'd like to invite all and sundry to a day of fun and frivolity up the hill at the Old School Domain, on the weekend of the 19-20th of may. bring all your boards and safety gear, and any one who would love to try the gear in a controlled area, i hope to have small jumps and a wee rail for those keen.

Belac and i will be showing people all the basics of atb, such as turns, linking turns and powerslides.

hello everyone, caleb here, cool looking forum, i like the choice of dark grey, 8) most peops go for light grey, way to 80's.
anyway, i digress. sunday seems cool to me, even if the weathers shit we can ride, ive got a few ramps i'll bring up, the only prob i have at the mo is i've just been diagnosed with shingles, so it's a bit touch and go on how much i ride.
good idea to bring any pads you've got lying around, i don't let anyone on my board without at least a helmet, gives the sport a bad name. but your welcome to borrow my natty gear.bring any old landboards along as well.
i'll try my hardest to get a drainpipe rail built in time, we were gonna have a peachy steel one but the metal source prooved to expensive.if anyone knows where theres a decent length of metal (3-4m) going free i'd be very intrested. :idea:
i'm sure i'll be a bit dazed and confused after saturday night antics, so i'll head up there for midday and be there all afternoon. ask the dirtdaddy for directions if you don't know them.

Well.... If the wind is onshore I suggest we meet on the beach around low tide at midday, and then head up to Old School at around 3pm.

If the wind is messing us about then I say we head to the hill around 1pm and have it large all afternoon...

just to reiterate what Belac said anytime sunday after 11am, thatll allow time for hangovers (yours not mine) to wear off, i'll be there earlyer than that so, fell free to rock up.

once again bring all safety gear you own, there will be some to borrow.

So South Brighton Surf Club it is... If the wind is up I will aim to get there around 11am.... If there's no wind, then I'll head up to Old School later....

Ok, so heres what i understand is happening.

If wind is up NE then we get to the beach at 11am (for me it has to be 12 as Dad will be at church)

Then if its NE we kite for a while then hit up old school reserve at 1pm.

Yup a return match is in order at the beach....

I have the kites, you have the boards... It would be a shame not to show you how much easier Kite Landboarding is in comparison to downhill mountainboarding...

I will look for a weekend in the next month or so with good mid-afternoon tides, and then everyone can pray to your individiual Gods that we get a sweet 10 knot easterly that day..., perfect for learners...

Regardless of which direction it blows, you will at least get a go on some trainer kites, maybe more.... And no worries if there is suspect wind that afternoon, beer and BBQ will make up for it.... 8)

get some old bike chain and a chain break

make some short loops of chain slightly smaller than the diameter when inflated fully

let the tire down, slip the chain over and reinflate the tire

put it over so the chain sticks up like a tread right around the tire

wow that would be like a knife edge!

if you used that on hard sand, surely that would give you more edge to load up against the kite for higher jumps?

Id be keen for the skifeild road but id like to do it when its dry first that way you would have an idea as to how much speed you would pick up on the way down....before i try it on ice and have the makeshift cains slip off and die over a several hundred metre drop....
