Anyone any idea of how I could get hold of a Flysurfer Speed 2.
Is there anyone that deals with Flysurfer in NZ?

I've had an original 7.2 Blade for 6 years now and its still my favorite.

Yeah its slow, but still prefer to most of the other foils I've tried. Perhaps I've just got used to it.
I tried out on a speed 2, 10 the other week, thats why I want one. No way am I going back with LEI's after that. One kite to do it all I reckon, but still love Flexi. How much for a 6.5 new Blade?

Or... get a PL... far more simple and better designed too!!

Probably cheaper than both blades and the speed!!

But yea, they are nowhere to be found at all in NZ... you'll have to order in, which could make it extremely expensive (not that the speed 2 doesn't cost enough in the first place  )

Living in Fiji at the moment, wind is shite here now, just a couple of months before the trades kick in again, can't wait. Palmerston North, NZ is home and this contract finishes in July so maybe home then if it is not renewed

Like all foils they will outlast a pump up kite and the quality speaks for itself.
Plus they can also take you snowkiting.....

www.windfinder.com/forecast/ohakea
i'm sure yourl get flying in a gnats fart of wind.

i'm gona have to style a trip to p/north to see this thing in action.

have you scoped some hills to glide off? every time i drive to wellington through wanganui/sanson area i always marvel and the massive paddocks nice smooth roling hills.

you need to post a full right up including pictures.

better yet book yourself in to come up to the moose meet. then we can all have a fly of the mighty flysurfer.

With landbased kites in mind, you could almost buy the whole range of PL reactors for that price with change to get a coffee...

I would have thought with kitesufing been so popular the prices would have come down.

Your right there mate, isn't it always the case.
I have had it out of the bag and given it a good look over, so far so good, quality is outstanding, best I have ever seen on a foil and I'm a die hard Flexi fan.
They seem to have put a lot of effort into designing these kites, flying lines are easily lengthened or shortened as required, simple B and C bridle adjustments, you can even adjust each individual bridle line where it connects to the sail. They also have these neat little line connectors (ELC's) so its easier to connect/disconnect the main lines.
Bar looks solid and easy to use with a tidy safety system, all we need now is some wind to give it a real test, let you know when I know, but it does not look good for a few days
Cheers
Dixie

OK
Took the Speed out yesterday to sort out all the Bridles and lines, safety etc, no wind, never got above 5 mph according to underground weather web site in Palmy.
I had no intention of flying as wind was too low, anyway with what little wind there was I lifted the leading edge to get some air into it so it would at least sit up while I worked out the lines. After messing around for about 5 minutes, just familierising my self with eveything the kite had sort of inflated, well I could not resist, hooked in, grabbed the leader lines above the strap and low and behold up she came.
I simply could not believe it, not only did it fly but I could actually keep it there, admittedly with the bar fully out most of the time. It even got me scudding short distaces when swept accross the window. I dont know of ANY other kite that would have flown in these conditions.
So I'm picking with 10 knots on a landboard I'm going to have no problem what so ever and @ 20 on the water this thing is going to really fly, watch this space for more updates

Got it from Jeff Roberts over in Aus ( ex demo ), but they are very hard to come by unless you buy Brand new. I have been after a used one for eons now, look at the date I started this post!!!.
There is now a new dealership in NZ, just go to Flysurfer web site and hit support link.
cheers

I was looking for a second hand one as I'm a tight arse and I loathe paying the over inflated prices that manufacturers charge for brand new kites.
This is the reason I had such a hard time locating one down this part of the world. Brand new would be no worries, but at closer to 3 grand kiwi for a new one I was prepared to wait.
I'm stoked with what I got, even tho I'm a Blade addict I reckon I'm going to be going to the Speed 80% of the time, never thought I'd say that.

I see the P4 is getting mixed reviews, not surprising for such a radical new concept in foils. You having any problems with the tips folding?.
How much more depower do you get compared to the P3?

Back in Palmy now, but will be back down CH CH at some time, catch up then.
Big kite festival at Ohakea Airforce base tomorrow so I get to blast up and down the taxi ways for a few hours, wind permitting of course.

Probably was not worth the trip down from New Plymouth, no wind at all until about 3pm. wind got up to about 5-6 mph with a few seconds here and there where it may just have touched double figures.
Pretty good day tho, lots of kites in the air when the wind was there, managed to get the Speed up and running with a few runs up and down the runway, pretty impressive in light wind with real smooth power build up. Pulls similar to a 16m LEI, but in half the wind, even managed a couple of pendulum jumps, looking forward to more wind.......
