Sorry I was stuck video editing and restoring the Media PC/Server data after a rather bad hardware failure. I might be able to squeeze in an hour at Tullet Park late friday morning, depends on how long the rehearsal for the wedding runs.

The wind looked good, how was it?

The wind was awesome yesterday. We got some pretty good footage.

...I also tried kitesurfing, which isn't so easy

Zenon hit 58kph in the flexifoil buggy, with spig's 3m sami2. Very fast indeed!!

I cracked a spar in the G2 (which seemed pretty angry at me yesterday for some weird reason ) so I fixed it up with a bit of driftwood and kept flying. I didn't even notice it after that.

So we had like 16-18 knots right? I think that really is a sweet spot in terms of wind strength. The perfect amount in my opinion.

At 10-13 knots it just isn't fun enough.

Also balancing on the thing seems like such a dark art!! But I think I'm getting it now, back foot does the work... front foot just guides the board.

best part was going about 50 metres, then getting waaaay too overpowered, loosing the board's edge and getting dragged through the surf. Bailing is way more fun than staying upright!!!

man yesterday was insanity very strong onshore SE the 3m was pulling me around when i flew it infront of me i made a skid as long as a house lol it seems i missed out on a primo session coz when i got there i had about 15 mins or so before it got gusty. Rob had been out for two hours kite surfing, Do kitesurf kites not get affected by gusts? coz they were ripping along the water at a steady speed and i was battln my foil.

Any way i got toeside lol i was leanen so far one way with the kite pulln me the other felt awesome.

Soon will be tryn air on my landboard yee harr!

well today sucked in terms of the wind... but it was a mint day for video editing.

As such, the first movie from the AEOBB (angry eyed octopus buggy brigade) is completed!

At the moment it's 120mb at the full res (6min 15sec), but a downloadable version will become available ASAP.

It's got some really cool footage included, taken from 3-4 different sessions, they include:

Waitangi day (20 knots cross onshore)
"the Sunday session" (12 knots of GAY onshore wind)
"after work sessions" (approx 18 or so knots)

Highlights of the film are my numerous crashes and silly antics. Zenon wheelies over the camera. Symptom nearly takes the cameraman out mid flight.

A harness is definitely required. It will make kiting heaps easier on your arms, and you you'll be able to fly for far longer.

Plus jumping without a harness just rips your arms out after a while.

We had pretty gay wind here too dude. Just farrr too light. But I did manage to cruise for a couple of hours on Saturday. First session on the Scorpion, and man is it awesome. 8)
