Hey Norwester...

It was a morning low tide today at 8:23 so you will be running outta beach by midday, and the the wind is only around 5-6 knots right now.

Next low tide is about 20:50 this evening meaning no riding until around 5:00pm. Wind is looking good for a solid NE-ENE this afternoon so should be good for this evening...

BTW... it's December dude...!

Heading out to tullet for a testing session:

V2/ vortex
New bigfoot
New seatbelt...

should be good, seeing as I'm the only one i'll just be able to jam with my mp3 player up loud, best way to buggy jump I reckon

Good to hear that the old fella still has it in him  .............was a bit worried after his other post that he might have been suffering from a bump to the haed.

Look out tomorrow pm for the buggy boys with a few new toys to try out at the beach.

I might even make a small apperance if conditions suit....But working next week in Ak so can't afford not to get on the plane on Monday!

Well that was by far the scariest session I have ever had... ever.

Flying a new kite, in a new buggy, with a new seatbelt. Took me at least 40 mins to get the kite going right. It flipped inside out so many times until I could get the line tension right. But, that's the huge negative side to flying homebrew kit. HOURS AND HOURS OF FINE TUNING....

I call it the HULK, just because it's green and eats people. It's one hell of a kite, lifted me to the moon, after which I thought I was dead, coming down realllllllyyy quick. But, the bigfoots saved me. This is a beast of a buggy.

Lift, turning and speed. This kite has it all.

Session: 8:15 till 10:45 (IT WAS PITCH BLACK 8) 8) )

EDIT: hopefully I can test the high wind arc tomorrow. That'll almost be a full quiver if it goes good...

Total arcs: 4. Total flexifoils: 0. Seeing a flexifoil rider being hit in the face by the HULK.... priceless

the old fellla ,not that old yet
I didnt ripit up too much but thanks to the support crew at the beach(Spig)
I certainly let anybody who went for a walk at the beach last night know that i had been there
AHHHHHH the whole beach to myself ...no dogs ,a couple of people and no buggies leaving big holes in the beach
My support crew was helpfull as the 4.9 got a bit hard to hang on to for a while so the crew went back to the car and got the 4.0 and helped with the set up,but then unfortunatly had to go home for tea,
A good session at the beach ,its a pity that you fellas couldnt make it ...

Conditions perfect right now, (E- 11 knots avg) until around 1pm.

Beach should be just about rideable from 6:00-6:30pm...

WOW, that session makes the top 10 of 06 easily.

After you left sym we:

Waited for the tide, cruised around in the bigfoot taking turns.

Zenon nearly crashed it into some cars up at New Brighton, also crashed in the dunes once, but then again, so did I and Symptom.

Cruised up to the mall, New Brighton. Zenon on the 4.9, I was on the HULK

Saw my english teacher.

Got fish and chips and two (undeepfried) moro bars,

Got out on the other side of the pier, Zenon on the Frenzy, I was still using the HULK.

Got to the point, met southie, cruised for another hour or two. I flew into Zenon and Southie in my normal reckless style, had to grab the HULK from the dunes, seeing as I had no leash.

Wind was up 17 to 18 knots, Zenon jumping nice on the Frenzy. The HULK was too powered, so I put up the 13 G2 (I FREAKING LOVE THIS KITE, IT'S AWESOME!!!!!!)

Then got about halfway back before it died, then came home and had roast lamb and apple pie. Good day in general.

Still got quite a few things to change on my new kit. New seat design is needed, also I've gotta remount the seatbelt clips and redesign the pad, it slips a bit.... I ripped the seat in 4 places.

As for the bigfoot.... We have found the ultimate buggy/kite combo for getting all conditions covered. Any tides, any winds....You can go anywhere, do anything starting around 6 knots. Seriously, I reckon top speeds of 40 would have been achieved. It's crap for freestyle though... need new wheels.. 8)

Kite of the Day: Probably the HULK, but the V1 16 did quite well. Also for the blade to fly in such low winds was quite impressive

Trick of the day: just a collaboration of nice parachute jumps under the frenzy/HULK/G2

Crash of the day: Symptom's flip, cos it was the only one

Ride time from 12:30ish till 8:30. One heck of a long day.

Back to redesigning kit.

lol i had 2 crashes... the one you saw sucked, the second one you didnt see involved a large log, 35kmph and no seat belt.... i got thrown high and landed hard on the sideframe with my calf(which now has a rather large bruse/swelling) and proceded to flip the buggy
