Hi guys!

I am a freestyle buggier and PKSF Instructor from the UK. I do a bit of kite land boarding too.

Where is the best place (some field inland maybe?) for flying in these crappy Westerlies and at high tide?

I haven't got any wheels - anyone wanna lend me a board for a few months or sell me a cheapy?

Any organised meets I should look out for?

Cheers! Hope to see some of you on the beach!

Hey Jay.... Don't ya love me anymore...?

Best place for buggying or landboarding is defo Brighton, either North or South, although North is currently in favour as the South seems littered with driftwood and seaweed right now.

North has 16kms of uninterupted hard packed sand and the South 8kms, (if you wanna kite under the Pier you'll have 24kms..!) The beach is rideable from 3.5 hours before low tide until 3.5 hours after, (7 hour window), and with any wind coming out of an easterly direction, (NNE-ENE is best I find).

There are couple of inland site we have used, (Spot 'X' and a number of local parks), but with quality winds at the beach, they don't get used as much except in winter.

I have an old MBS Comp 16 Pro that I am willing to lend you, on condition you sign up for our Waikuku weekend in November abnd come along and have some FUN...

Other than that there is generally someone down at the beach most weekends depending on the tide and wind conditions. Last Sunday we had gusty 12-16 knot NE winds and 6 or more land based kiters out representing, plus a heap of the surf danglers. I generally post the tide times and wind forecasts into the Chat thread above, so keep an eye out...

Or drop me a PM or email, (you have my address) and I'll keep you in the loop... I think you still owe me a beer...?

Hey Steve!

Sent you an email yesterday about meeting up - maybe your work email or something?

Yep still up for that beer when you're free.

Comp 16 would be cool - definately owe you a few for that!

Waikuku weekend in November... tell me more!

Looks like I am free all this weekend as my paraglide instructor is busy at the outdoor show. So hope for nice Easterlies...

Jay....

PM sent with my email address...

If you have some transport now, you can come and pick the board up anytime you like... Otherwise the weekend would be good, (if we can ever co-ordinate our schedules..!!)

Details about Waikuku are here: http://www.kiteforum.co.nz/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2295

Yep qualified by the Power Kite Sports Federation - The National (International maybe?) Kite Organisation - British Buggy Club and the like are children of that organisation - although it is all changing again soon...

Yep Freestyle buggier, trying to get into boading more and more - easier to carry a board on a bus!!
