Hey BOND, you have come to the right place...

First things first, I would suggest you get hold of a small 4-line foil kite, (3.0m or less), and a large open space, (domain, park, etc), and get out and practice your flying in some gentle clean winds, (less than 10 knots). Being able to fly the kite correctly is more important than the boarding skills, but once you have some hours flying under your belt, look to get hold of a solid reliable landboard, (or Mountainboard), and try them together.

There are a few places on the net that give basic instruction, but it's always best to try and learn with a more experience flyer. I'm not sure if there is anyone else down in Riverton that I know of, so you may have to just make do on your own...

Oh, and asking questions in this forum is a good idea too....

Everyone you ask will have a different opinion I am sure...., but for me, learning to fly on handles is the best bet.

This allows you to learn how to properly control the kite, learn about brake settings, and get some respect for the power of the kite. A bar is a great option once you get up and running with the landboard as it simplifys the flight controls somewhat, and allows you to operate the kite one-handed.

Whereas if you were to go into a buggy...You would be better off with handels.

Heres a small vid that you should have a look at to see just how fun a Kite Buggy can be. It also shows you what it looks like.

letoii.no-ip.org/Kiting/Videos/Airborne%...kbs%20widescreen.wmv
"Right Click" "Save As"

Download that and take a look ill also find another video that has some landboarding in it.

http://flexifoil.com/downloads/videos.php And click on Gravity Rengades.

lol so it depends on the person huh? i watched the videos and................ you buggiers (is that how you spell it?) are nuts. i thought the buggy's (that how you spell it) were strictly grounded. what kinda buggy do you use? Oh and also i found a very very very long beach, well actually i knew it was there i just figured it would probably be good for any form of kiting as the beach runs for ever and a bit but im not sure about the wind conditions the name of the beach is Oreti heard of it? its just outta invers. and yessss the wind has picked up a little would have been perfect condition for learning cnt w8 to get my kite.

I long to go to Oreti beach as i am from Invercargill originly.

I have now idea how you spell buggyiers hence the question in my signature.

And we all ride Peter Lynn Kite Buggys and once you got the ground tricks like 360's and wheelies perfect then you can take to the sky.

Thats why we think that buggys are way more fun as you can take huge speed runs along the beach or do what the video showed you and take to the air.

My opinion once you can easily fly your kite get yourself a kite buggy you wont regret it.

Hey if Oreiti beach is good enough for landboarding, then maybe a weekender road trip might be in order.... 8)

Damn, I was the buggyer on the south Brighton beach. It was nice but wihtout others its boring nobody to race.
I'm out tomorrow if the wind is right and i don't sleep to long.
maybe we meet then.
If you don't eat your meat, you can't go kiting.
How can you go kiting if you don't eat your meat?!
