boys'' its about fun and getting togeather some of the people you want to race might just like to have fun and ride with us.

the invite was not a race but a gathering of like minded people that might otherwise ride on there own

you are not the only people on the beach and it is unsafe for you to come under a kiter .

i had first hand experience with a blokart rider with no idea of what he was doing and which side to give way on.

i was lucky to have been on a depower kite and able to release the safety quickly but as the lines were arround the kart this had only small dent in the speed of which was about to happen.
which was a flying leap off the board and a walk on water effect to catch up not only with a runaway kite but a runaway blokart.

all was ok in the end and the boys in question were told promtly what to do in the future .

all wind sports are fun and we all love getting down to the beach and having a go' but please beware of other users and also walkers.

we do not want any type of a ban put on any of our activites .

which we could see happen if someone got hurt .

as a out of controll blokart or kite can harm a walker / kids/babys /dogs

in a flash .

so this speach is not just about blokart and kites but to any new kiter etc out there that is not to sure on what side is best and the safest to pass on .

we are a friendly bunch of people and we like talking to anybody that is new .

and advise or point in the right direction .

if you are unsure please ask another karter or boarder or one of those odd people in the buggys.

kite lines will not only damage your sail but will cut limbs off with out a second chance.

Good words Paul.... You did the right thing, and I think the kids were genuinely sorry, as was their father....

All beach users should be treated with respect, but as landboarders/buggiers we need to set the example.

Do not get too close to other beach user, be they BloKarters, landyachts, dog walkers, dozy old folks out for a walk. Give them a wide berth and slow down if they look unsure.

If you are new to the beach, then don't hesitate to contact anyone in this forum if you are a little unsure of how to proceed. The last thing we need is some new kiter both hurting themself or any other beach user, and getting the sport banned like it is in so many other countries.

If we take responsibility for ourselves we'll save ourselves some trouble later on down the track.

Totally agree with everything said and my small bother with them karts is me nearing overpowered on the 4.9 coming surf side of a land yacht and being dragged downwind now thats not a situation you want to be in....



Odd me no im just the one who thinks if boarders can do board off's i can do buggy off's... :roll:

that is right i can tell you first hand it is not a nice feeling knowing you are about to get a spanking it was just lucky i had spigs depower .because i know if it was the 5.5 fixed i would have been in a whole lot more trouble. as being cought and stuck between a cart and a set of kite line is something you dont want to repeat.

it does knock the mojo out of you a little.
