After some careful studying of the calender and the tide charts the dates for the next Landboarding NZ Ltd. Waikuku Kite Camp are going to be Friday 10th to Sunday 12th November.

Low tide will be around 4:00pm that weekend which will allow a whole afternoon on each day for kiting. There will also be a chance for some more night flying, campfires and general madness & mayhem this second time around.

The plan will be to either stay in a cabin or a tent at the motor camp, arriving Friday Afternoon, (in time for the evening sunet session), and having a full afternoon session on both Saturday & Sunday.

Everyone welcome, boarders, buggiers, surfies, watchers and newbies. More details to be posted in this thread.

i just asked for 30.5hours off over the holidays but shoud still have something left over ( i hope)

@ norwester: I'm very keen to go kiting if you intrested we could go up\down . i also have the weekends free for kiting. 8)

Im in for that ill easily get Friday and Saturday off. No probs.

Also i so hope that the Ozone buggy will have been released by that time.

Not true i take you advice and sit down and think about it but to tell the truth its always nice to be able to buy something off the shelve brand spanking new and it just makes you feel good.

I will be building some form of kite in term 4 when you get back from Overseas Trip but this also means that if i get a buggy at Waikuku then you get to use my old one so its a win win situation its just i am a little low in my bank account. Thats All.

Oh, just another thing to add about buying kites and stuff...

I generally enjoy the whole process of tweaking up my kit, perfecting it with each session. I almost see it as an easy way out, buying new stuff, that is. (then again I've always liked doing things in unconvential, and difficult ways)

True, it is very frustrating at times, but once you get it right it is an awesome feeling. Being dragged at 50 km per hour using gear that rivals commercially built foils (that have come from people with more time, development funds and genrally better tools) is a wicked feeling.

Just the NZ number 8 wire mentality that has me hooked I guess.

Dude please dont get me wrong but there is a small buzz when you can buy something new and just be like WOW.

But i do enjoy building stuff as well and as a matter o fact i will be cutting the templates for a kite in the near future. Design yet to be decided.

But i will take any opinions that you through my way.

Well I do know the buzz feeling. Happened on the phantom (about the 3rd session).

Even then, Ive still been way happier cruising under my 6.5 gual. That kite just blows my mind sometimes. Oh the 3.5 Ergo is good too...and the 2mtr junkie

I think it is a subtle message to poo bear to ditch the mug and get a new one ...a more grown up one for big kids .......

Speaking of coffee mugs. The Angry Eyed Buggy Boys have some of their own for a grand avaling at Waikuku. And Sherman and his new found friends will also be there.
