I should be getting a bullet 4.5m in the post anyday now, it comes with handles, would I be able to use the bar off my aeroII ? or is it a dif type of bar setup? does anyone know where I can get a bar for one of these?

Re: BULLET 4.5 Bar or Handles 5 years, 8 months ago #10617

i dont know much about bars but you should be able to use one, however i do know that you have a lot more controll over the kite if you are using handles

Just about any four line kite can be used on a bar as syMptom said you do have much better control over the kite with handels.

This is because with handel you are able to make turns tighter using the brakes where as this is not possible using the bar. It also means that you can reverse launch with handels which is i must admit would be possible with a bar but its not really a logical choice.

For all means try it out, Even better try both see what you like better you might perfer the bar.

Personally i perfer handels as there is better kite control this way.

Mathius - the Naish AeroII 2 bar does not work the same way as a dedicated 4-line traction kite bar that you would need to use with your Bullet. You could 'fudge' a fix to be able to use it, but my advice is not to.

Ozone make a specific 4-line traction control bar, either 55cm or 65cm depending on your kite, (65cm would work with your 4.5m Bullet). Flexifoil also make 2 dedicated traction control bars; a 'Lite' and an 'Extreme' version.

I can sell you an Ozone bar - PM me

It also means that you can reverse launch with handels which is i must admit would be possible with a bar but its not really a logical choice.

Zenon - I can assure you that reverse launching a 4-line kite with a bar is as simple and as quick as with handles... Absolutely no difference there.

I have never heard so much bullshit Zenon...A bar works solely on the concept of changing the brake line tension.

Handles are better as you can cram force on the main secondary bridle lines (where the force in a turn is required). Not so with a pulley bar.

Also, propellor spins aren't as achievable with a bar.

Handles win, but not just because of the ability to manipulate brake line tension. If you rig with a pulley, it's also just as easy to cruise.

However, for a kite that relies on the change of AoA should NEVER be used with handles. A high performance kite as an example would be the FANTASIC PL scorpion.

Handles = Cheaper + more compact. Also faster to set up (if you know how)

Well nothing there was any different to what i posted just n better terms. But you get the picture handels are better for that type of kite in my honest opinion.

I have been flying my 4.5 Bullet for about a year , and find the handles
as everyone has said are the best to use . I use my bullet bar on my 2.5 Pepper and it works great on the smaller sized kite .

Kiteworks had a Bullet bar last time i was in for $50 . I paid Over a $100 for mine .

I fly my kites mainly at the Avondale Racecourse . PM me if you want to meet up 8) I can share some tips on the Bullet, you might be able to show me how to use my AR5
May the WIND be with YOU
