Your new junkie S30 shouldn't look like a Junkie at all.

I'd make it look like a new Tribal3 3m, for which I have the approved surfplan file sitting here on my Hard Drive...

Oh and number 1 would look kicakss, except with blue and red

alas the plans are half but printed, yet the other half remain undone as fate would have my ink run out

Hmmm... tribal three on tueday then? On the A3?

How many sheets of A4 was the 3m...like 350?

Also, I SERIOUSLY do not recommend that you sew it on the home machine. Honestly, it will just stuff the fabric up. I'll sew it for you if you want man.

The tribal 3m is 100 at A3, so I guess they are pretty much identical.

Now, tomorrow the Tribal 3m must be printed, otherwise I'm going on strike and refusing to make it until exam time.

This weekend will be the last one devoted to kiting.

hmm well this Junkie is a kite plan from wingine.nl and the colour scheme was also taken from a picture he saw on the Wingine site so if thats your kite then it is indeed the same design lol.

What size is your Gual?

It's a 5m. How's your junkie coming along?

Re: what should my 3m junkie look like? 5 years, 8 months ago #10697

1/2 of the profiles to cut and 2/3 of the upper skin is to be cut out as i ran outta blue and red material. sill start sewing when i fell like it, could be anytime with in the next 2weeks

So how are your 8m and 12m teegas? I've been thinking of building one between those sizes for light wind. I imagine they can be 'difficult' if the wind starts to pick up.

My girlfriend has a 4m npw that pulls pretty hard. I think it would be fun to have a huge one for those days when no one else can go. I've got plenty of scrap fabric.

Re: what should my 3m junkie look like? 5 years, 8 months ago #10706

dirt easy to make compaired to foils.. the bridal takes the longest. the teega is a huge improvement over the nasa wing, i often underestimate my 4m and most of the time end up getting wasted by it. wind range for the 4 is about 10-16 knots, the 8m has a range of about 7-13 knots and the 12m has a range of about 4-10knots.

the teega is certainly a park and go kite with huge amounts of horrizontal pull, certainly more power than my buggy wheels hold on to as i often spend most of my time travelling sideways lol

ooo and 32m teegas are used to pull those realy big yaughts

4mtr teega = one wicked kite.

The 8m on 10m lines is also a very wicked combo for dune buggying. Possibly the best combo there is for a teega. I'd say it could be ridden anywhere between 6-25 knots. (gets scary past 17)

Also, I have a 6.5 gual, which is a pure cruise machine. It's heavily used now, but I love it!! Considering an 8, but not so sure....

The 12m generates traction in as little as 4 knots. You can just sit it anywhere you want, lock the brakes on with a little tension, and just go for it.

I'm gonna make a 3m teega out of chikara soon. I reckon it will have a little more speed than the legendary 4m, plus a little more direction and stability in the higher wind ranges. Possibly better upwind too, once I tune it that is

Google, I guess... I was looking for some kite files yesterday and came across a post about a junkie. Looks like you get some traffic here, so I signed up. Anything kite-related to distract me from my day job is good.

Not sceptre kite files by any chance?

I still have a bridle sheet that I could dig out if you need it.

'twas my first foil. One hell of a cool kite. 8) Only foil that I know of that can be built entirely from 1 sheet of A4

Yeah, the sceptre, but I'v already re-done the bridle. My friend leaves town tomorrow, and I've already finished and tested the bridle. !/2 hour of testing will have to be enough. My friends learned to fly on the sceptre, so it will have to do.

Thanks for your help though!
Chris.
