That stainless steel buckle does look good - in fact I'd upgrade all my bars with it as soon as i can get them.

I haven't flown the Boxer SLE yet, but i have set my 9m Shockwave bar up on the 1:1 setting. The bar pressure drops considerably plus the kite seems to handle more 'C' like. You don't get as much depower from the bar throw, but it still a LOT compared to a 5 line 'C' kite. I need to get some time on the water with it, but looks like a good nice option for those that want to do more freestyle riding on the Shockwave.

Cheers,

I have had my first powered session on the new 2007 Naish Boxer 12M SLE this week, 25 gusting 30 knots.
I've been a staunch powered C kite rider for over 7 years now and never thougth I'd bother with the new Bow/SLE kites. I really didn't have any intention of even trying this kite. But they definitely have a place in the future of kite surfing. Don't get me wrong I'll always own and enjoy the power of a C kite, but when it comes to gusty massively overpowered high wind stormy conditions the Naish Boxer SLE is the kite for you.

The wind range is massive and so useable. You can put this kite anywhere in the wind window, deep and low in the power zone - kiteloop on a dime with smooth controllable power. No surging whiplash unless that's what you want, then just pull the bar in turn on the mighty power of the kiteloop.
Wave riding is easier in onshore wind and wave conditions (not everyone is blessed with cross shore winds) A C kite will eventually pull you off the wave or you will be riding down the line depowering the kite, sure it's do able. But the Boxer SLE you just park the kite where you want it and dial in the power relative to the wave speed and surf. Diffintlly link up more bottom turns with out the work.
Lift is as good as any C kite.

Yet to try the 1:1 ratio bar control, but loving it already. May have to convert and sell my C kite quiver??
