Hi out there! Just wondering if anyone has been over to Raro kiting. A few of us Wanaka crew are thinking about Muri Beach, Raro. mid August and keen for any info. on wind, conditions, accomodation. Thanks.

we went to Raro last year around mid August. We had one great day at Muri and another awsome day outside the old sheraten, just a few k's further down the beach. We then took off to Aitutaki, and had a little less wind (just bad luck as it's not worse there) but still had some good kiting, just had to hire a boat to take us up to a sand bar to do a down winder. Talking to the locals there, made it sound as if the trade winds are better a bit earlier, like July... It's a beautiful spot though, we had a blast.
