Hi,

I've just bought the rather cheap Cabrina Element kit from Wild Winds. I've done a lot of kiting on land (static/boarding) and want to transfer my skills and learn to kitesurf.

Last weekend I headed up the coast to Paraparaumu and Waikanae, had a brilliant time testing flying etc., but I realised it's a lot harder than a foil (esp. launching/landing). Nearly lost the whole thing when checking out what the quick release system actually does!

Hoping to get out onto the water next weekend, same location. If anyone's gonna be around, please give me a shout - I'd feel much more confident if there were other kiters around and you might be able to give me some tips!

PS: If anyone knows where I can pick up a second hand wetsuit I'd be grateful - think it's a bit nippy to try without one.
