TOPIC: Best of luck...

Best of luck... 6 years, 2 months ago #7910

 Its such a shame that Shannon Best has flown halfway around the world to sail at Shakespear bay with a bunch of blimp flyers.... It would be Best that he went to Muriwai and sampled some real kiting. All the Best anyway

Re: Best of luck... 6 years, 2 months ago #7911

speaking of which, i have just returned from my second day in a row scoring immense waves, small kite boosts, king tides etc @ muriwai in the middle of the day - perfect weather, not a single person on the beach, just a few hardcore surfers on the inside, the odd seagull flying backwards and not a single glimpse of a kiter and i have got to ask the question: WHERE THE HELL ARE ALL THE TWEAKERS?!

any other random day of the year i show up at any godforsaken, toxic, windswept puddle with not a skerrick of motion in the ocean, there's more kooks, tweakers, sycophants, pimps and derros than you could pack into a combi van before setting it on fire.

does anyone else enjoy riding walls once in a while? hopefully shannon still does and tells his groupies / spinners to F-arc off and heads west like a real man.

If that wind turns westerly then we may all end up heading to Muriwai... so a trip to the beach "where real men kite" hasn't been ruled out. As Lee said we are chasing the wind.. although from the looks of things we won't have to do much chasing.
eastern beach hates my guts because i did a big crap in my wetsuit whilst out there kiting 6 years ago. That's why i'm the most unpopular kiter in NZ. Beast from da east reprazent mutha f#$$%@ers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hurray there are 2 Osamas. Double trouble for Bush. Who is the imposter? Infact we still don't know who the REAL OBK is.

We have a new development on the BEST get-together situation. If we cast our eyes outside our windows we may notice something.....

WTF has happended to the wind???!!!

F-arc ya's ya bunch of Auckwakka's!

BEST you stay north of the Bombays, preferably in some grovelly tight little wind-sloppy bay sheltered by the Greatest of Barriers.

Have just chased a good swell back to Rags after a great 4-6 ft session in the Naki.....

Only 2 other kiters out, but the pack of wave-hungry Polies needed bringing in to line, I had to assert my rights to total wave domination with the surfboard + kite.....

Poles make for interesting slalom courses while smacking the lip, floating & bottom-turning.

The b@$+@^ds claw their way upwind towards you at the start of your wave and try to ignore the fact that they are in your way for turning down the line.

There is NO space for more kiters down here so BEST you's fulla's just stay north and keep shagging Osamas camel.

Well the crew went to Muriwai on Sunday and I had the best session I've had for a long, long time.
Great conditions, great people, great atmosphere. (And a sausage sarnie waiting for you when you left the water!)

I'm still smiling!
