are there any good kitesurfing conditions on the south island the next few days - What is the place to go to?

Not sure about kitesurfing, but alternatively, christchurch is the place to be for surfing at the moment. Tons of swell pouring into the bay and light offshore winds, definitely some of the best surfing conditions of the season.

pack up the small gear and the warm clothes and go south, way down south, Colac Bay, SW, W and NW, all well worth a go.

Westerly 20 knots rising to southwest 30 knots late morning. Sea becoming rough. Southwest swell rising to 3 metres. Poor visibility in squally showers developing this morning.
Outlook
following 3 days: Southwest 20 to 30 knots, becoming Friday westerly 30 to 40 knots with very rough sea, change Saturday southwest 20 to 30 knots then ease. Tending late Saturday northwest 15 to 25 knots. Heavy southwest swell Thursday. Heavy southerly swell Saturday
harbour boosting, sideways buggying, harwood speed gps'ing, sometime kiteskiing, wave/washing machine kiting, gear breaking, driving about chasing the wind....

maybe the westcoast would be warmer?

might not be sunny and warm down south but it will be windy and the waves should be BIG
harbour boosting, sideways buggying, harwood speed gps'ing, sometime kiteskiing, wave/washing machine kiting, gear breaking, driving about chasing the wind....

There may be a crew from Nelson going down to the West Coast,
Tauranga bay, 9 Mile and Carters Beach. Just south of Westport near Cape Foulwind.
