Wow, windy in Chch today!!
Must have been around 30, at least! Too windy for anything bigger than 7m.

We took some pics of Frank kiting in big waves.
From the pier in New Brighton..

Really nice pics!

So that was you on the Southern side of the pier! I was wondering whose kite this tiny black one was.
The waves at the back were just massive. The two mini GK 7m from NorthBeach were screaming in the surf, Nico was pretty adventurous, and I was shitting my kitepants at times...

Best trick of the day: come home alive (nailed)

Hasn't been that windy for a while.. well maybe one day last week..
Turned my 8m pussycat into a stroppy tiger that's for sure... Fun though

Hm, I guess standing on a pier and having a perfect angle makes it kind of easy to shoot. But anyways: thanks.

I thought that it was you out there, Alex.
But you were so far out that I couldn't really tell if it was GRkites.
Where can I find these wind-statistics?
That really was windy!!
I tried to go out a little later, in Sumner. But after like two tacks I felt very insecure to put it nice. There was no way for me to even just cruise around on the 7. Bit scary.
It was suposed to come up to 20 knots today too, hm? We'll see what happens after the rain.

Hey Sanya,

I went out 2 minutes too... and gave up. Same thing. Didn't feel secure enough, I foudn the wind gusty and sometimes not enough power to escape the waves

Pray for wind today!!

Ok, on a rainy day like this it is time for me to join this forum.

The forecast looks much better than the view out of the window...
I was hoping for another great day, maybe a little less windy though!

Very windy. I was out for a couple of hours mid morning till after lunch on my 10m Diesel Turbo, the gusts were extreme, lull 7-37 knot gusts according to windnet. I didn't think it was that windy, but sure was gusty, the wave riding was insane out back, over double head high, they just kept stacking up & up. Not many riders around either, apart from Barnaby on a 7m Fuel fanging around, Julian on his 9m Fuel was maxed out. The gusts were not nice, the jumps BIGGER than huge! The type of day when you jump & can see into the back gardens of the houses across the road
Fun scary session...

Hey Tim,

I went out again at the Pier at around 6pm, it was still very strong but not that gusty anymore.
Went downwind to Sumner after that, but the waves were better next to the pier. huge!
I was very happy to be on nothing bigger than the 7m!

tending northeast in the morning and rising to 35 knots from Thursday afternoon


looks like we're gonna get some, you'll probably get some more too.

noone bothered here Tuesday, way too much water time lately and wind a bit crazy close to town
harbour boosting, sideways buggying, harwood speed gps'ing, sometime kiteskiing, wave/washing machine kiting, gear breaking, driving about chasing the wind....
