My Crossbow leader and bridle lines are already looking rather worn, thanks to not diligently keeping the sand off and some replacement are necessary.

Cabrinha NZ are being less than helpful so it looks like I might have to do this myself. I'm looking for dyneema line and Ronstan pulleys, plus someone who knows how to splice. Can anyone help?

There is also some really interesting bridle modification stuff going on which looks promising:

I have brought those small Ronstan pulleys (part no: RF113101R) and different diameter dyneema from Oborns Nautical in Christchurch.

Therefore I am guessing that any boat supplier/chandler in NZ should be able to help you out.

Hi Simon P.

Saw your post "Cabrinha NZ are being less than helpful". If you need any assistance, please call the shop or even better bring your bar in to be serviced. We do try and stock all the crossbow parts, and if we dont have it, are usually happy to out source the right bits to get you back on the water.

We hate to see bad publicity- if you call me on (09) 486 7739 or email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. I am sure that we can help.

regards

Jamie

I'm back on the water now after eventually breaking a leader line which loaded up the bridle on the other side and stuffed the pulley. iI had to do a quick fix-it knot job on a sandbar with an incoming tide in order to get home.

I was going to wait for the NZ importers in Christchurch to supply as I have been happy zooming around on my 9m Switchblade and a skimboard in 12 knots for the last couple of weeks but I was starting to get bored.

I eventually found a company called Hampidjan (owned and run by Icelanders) who make fishing nets for China who had kilometres of dyneema and spliced the leader lines for me.

Oborns were happy to post the pulleys up to Nelson for me (the part number is actually RF13101R) and I got someone else to sew the bridle lines. All cost next to nothing but it was a pain to do the run around. There will inevitably be others who want to do the same thing.
