Hi Dan,

The Decay Kiteboards workshop is now at 3B Kepa Road, Ruakaka, turn off Marsden Point road at the Pub, and Kepa road is on you left as you head towards the power station.

Ruakaka Kitesports is also now running for lessons, with the retail store due to open in a week or two - once we have finished the gib fixing and painting - the shop is right next to the Decay workshop.

As for Whangarei Harbour, Justin, Su and I will be out at One Tree Point sand bar later this afternoon - this N wind is starting to get a sea-breeze pushing on top of it.

For more info give me a call on 021 654 149.

Cheers,

Dave Kay

We haven't had a chance yet to check out the north side of the harbour - I couldn't tell you what Parua Bay is like to kite in. I did use to dingy sail there when I was a teenager, beaches to rig on could be an issue. There is good riding to be had in Mcleod Bay tho, behind the sand bar on McDonald Bank in a SW.

Todays session at OTP was great - nicely powered on the 16.5m/pulley bar/Saber 136 combo. Flat water behind the sand bar and sunshine - what else do you need?

Looks like the next few days will be giving us the same again.

Hell yes we are still making boards! - flat out right now with both custom and production Saber orders - feel free to stop by and see the process in action.

I have been in Parua Bay, out in front of the golf club (south) end. It is ok on a NE, SE, E and maye a Nwind but tends to be gusty. Sea breezes in summer seemed too light for a16m but i was only learning them. When the tide is out it goes a loooong way so expect it to be shallow.
