Hi all,

On Saturday the slightly overinflated leading edge of my 16m Naish X2 decided to become close friends with a sharp shell at Pt Chev. End result is about a 20cm split in the seam of the bladder and a corresponding tear of the leding edge of the kite. And just as I was getting ready to launch it!

My question is as it is an old 2nd hand kite (that I've only used 2 or 3 times as I prefer my 11m Fuel) could it be or is it worth repairing? Anyone got an idea of the costs of these sort of things? Or should I just write it off and look round for a newer second hand one to replace it with?

Any suggestions?

Azza

The chances of getting a new bladder are pretty slim.... You would be looking at around $200 for the bladder (if you could get your hands on one) and another $100 for the sail repair. You would be better to put the money towards a new kite dude......

I was in the same boat as you when i fell out. I had a 12m X2 and a 20m AERO that both did the bang thing. They were getting on so decided to retire em and replace em. Kiteworks have a number of secondhand kites and older unused kites still available.

Then again why go secondhand? Just get a brand new 05 BEST for the price of a secondhand kite.
eastern beach hates my guts because i did a big crap in my wetsuit whilst out there kiting 6 years ago. That's why i'm the most unpopular kiter in NZ. Beast from da east reprazent mutha f#$$%@ers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That repair would cost about $60.00 if you were to send it to me.

I don't believe it would be twisted like the proverbial chicken legs.

If you can source a bladder from a retired kite she'll be up and flying for next to nix.

Ph. 027 670 8301 For a solid repair at a sensible price.
