Hi all,
I will fly over Fiji on my way back home to Germany on 16th of October and thought about staying there for 2 weeks.
Has anyone of you been to the Yasawa Island in Fiji?
Are there good kitesurfing spots on some of those islands or is it better to go somewhere else in Fiji.
Looking for backpacker style holiday, cant afford more :?
And does anyone made experience with www.awesomefiji.com
Would be great to get some input

Fiji is a little over rated, this season I haven't heard from too many that have had that much luck up there, wind wise that is.

Tonga is the best pick I've found for great breeze for your buck.

So are you on your way back to a northern winter?

thanks for the reply. Well I came from a nice cold german winter, had the last 2 month of summer over here and now I'm going back from winter into the next one.................. that bluddy suck!!!!!
But will fly to the Gold Coast, for 4 weeks befor hiting to Fiji that willbe my summer then!!

Hey,

If you're heading to the Yasawa's - Nanuya Island is the place to go. Gets the tradewinds. Usually a few kiters there. There are 2 back packing resports on the back of the island, which are basic and cheap. Nanuya Is Resort is more up market and apparently very nice.

Most well known (sometimes not for a good reason) is Safari Lodge. There are lots of posts on the forum about it.
