8) Kia Orana the NZ Kitecrew. KT here currently living in Tyre, South Lebanon. The beachs here are awesome and the wind has been blowing but my kit is held up in bloody Beirut customs. Apparently I brought too much alcohol from NZ so they are coomplaining. Whats up with that?

Planning a few kite trips to Hurghada in Jun then to Spain in July. Cyprus is good as well. I have seen one kiter here from Germany. Bloody fool almost killed a local when he lost control of his kite and got dragged through the crowd on the beach. Another one of these buy a kite off the net then teach yourself dude.

Brad & Torch, when are your guys coming to Egpyt? The weather here is awesome and the sights on the Lebanese beaches are truly sweet on the eye! I am going to host, run and win the Lebanese kiteboarding champs so at least I'll be No 1 in this country. lol

Trust all is well.
KT (On Station in Sth Lebanon) (In the Service of Peace, or so I'm told)

Wild man - I only recently found your email address. Will email you with tales of Auckland kiter derring's-do.

Re: Loads of wind and beachs....just no kites.........YET!! 7 years ago #5310

sounds good bro - good luck on getting your gear back (or your alcohol!)

tell us who you get on in egypt and spain etc. oops, i meant HOW you get on.

some advice from another war zone: keep your mug down and keep the peace - never let a syrian launch your kite brother, and never lend your kit to an iraqi, saudi or palestinian. they may use it in a suicide strike on tel aviv, and you'll end up in a world of pain with the CIA when you try to get a warranty.

but above all, watch out for osama. i've heard he sometimes kites lebanon in a north swell. his caravan appears by magic on the horizon just days before a big blow and he frolics around on cavemade kit, before mounting his camel and then when he gets tired he saddles up and rides back to 'stan.

also, i am thinking of starting a competition called: THEY'RE READING THIS SHITE HERE! where correspondents send in photos of themselves reading wind and shite magazine in some suitably hellish environment, i'm thinking abu gharaib prison or saddam's cell.

see what you can do mate. let me know if you don't have enough copies of the mag with you (actually that could be what the customs drama is all about) and i'll send you a shipment - i know a couple of skips that have bundles of the queer things.

anyway that's the news in brief, i'm kiting once a fortnight if i'm lucky, nana still asks after you as knitting permits and brad and gav are getting on famously.

007 Marhaba,

Kayf Halak? Just returned from the US and three weeks in the boxwill email soon. Watch out for the real OBL, as opposed to OBK and its multitude of split personalities and rantings on this forum. OBL shouldnt need his camel for a while; feel free to take her for a ride, however, Im told that camel spiders can leave a nasty bite - sometimes found in the shade between dodgy camel toes!

hey mate.
good to hear that you have made it and that there is plenty of wind over there. you should get plenty of practice in so when you get back you would have progressed past those weak nana moves you were doing before you left.
new cal was wicked 14 days of 18-25 knots. awrsome place will have to go back again. give me an email when you have some spare time This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

As for the nana moves..............best you get your honky sorry ass out there and realise that your fins actually have to leave the water before it can be classified as a jump.

Must go gents.... Have a 30th birthday this Fri to organise.

More like 50th! Happy birthday oh ancient one! The "sweet" views on the beaches will be sayin

"hey, there goes that old grey kiwi guy in his budgie smugglers having a perv at us again! He can't be a day over 60! Man, he's so hot, I hope he brings some of his old grey mates over for a looksy too!".

Have a good one - don't do anything (or anyone) we wouldn't!!

F%$Kkkkkk yasssss my brothers

I am amazed how often my name comes up on this beloved forum - it is truly a blessing not to be forgotten.
Thank you brother Shaan for posting the picture of our tragic brother saddam reading the magazine I sent him. I have told our brother saddam many times do not wear the grubby Y fronts sent you by Lee the sheep shagger - wear the rhinestone cowboy g-string shaan sent you last christmas - still he not one for listening - I said brother come to Auckland with me and take up kiting but no he chose to stay in Baghdad and take it up small boys.

It is amazing how quiet anrgyman has become ???
I have a new hit on my list and it may well be this weekend I will keep you posted.
