Fiji trip warning!!!

I am writing this so that people in the kitesurfing community are well aware about the "safari lodge" that is run by a warren francis.
The guy is a conartist and nothing but a good talker.
If you like a mossy riddled, muddy, half bulit lodge that comes with power 3 hrs dayily and running water sometimes! then by all means go for it.
But seriouly the guys is a loser, treats his fijian workers like shit and sacked them for sticking up for us.
I went there with KBM to promote his resort only to want to knock him out after 2 days.
JUST BE WARNED THAT NOTHING HE SAYS IS TRUE, DO NOT GO TO HIS RESORT!!
The island itself is beautiful, i would recommend to stay with john morrison. (www.gowindsurfing.co.nz)

I hope that is not to cold over there for u guys.
Regards,
Paul Jackson

Apparently he charged some visitors a shitload to ferry them across the island for a dinner & party. They complained about the food and service to the people throwing the party, who said it was a free private function for their friends, so what were they complaining about!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes, no-one likes him.

Whatever you do, don't go to Rakiraki (the northern end of the island). Its absolutely sh**te for kiting. Gusty, bad launching, might as well go kite shoal bay with a bad hangover and blisters on a gusty mid-winter sketchy southerly - you'd have more fun.

If you go anywhere, and if it has to be Fiji ('cause Fiji sucks) then go to Plantation Island. I have kited a few places around the world and Fiji ranks pretty low IMHO.

Hey thanks for the heads up.
Always good to get some feedback from these Fiji tours.
Hopefully he takes on board your comments and imporoves his service.
Plenty of people are interested in going to Fiji each year.

  • osama - been kiting
F&^K yaaaa to all my brothers

I am reading this and am in an array of sadness - how dumb do you have to be - Fiji is a wonderful palce to kite, sail, sit in the sun and bath with your camel.
The tosser camel spit that come and yell about the antics of a few are less than the yellow scumb one gathers around a camels rectum - there are many places in fiji to stay and if you do not like one then move to another a whole country does not need to be spat upon because of the exerince of a few. I know many brothers who have been and loved it.

I am unhappy with this type of silliness on the forum...I expect it from sister Lee cos he is a silly fellow .....but some of you others???? i am surprised.

i have to generally agree with the turbaned terror on this one. fiji rocks, especially from a yacht and especially when one leaves behind the touroid masses and navigates up toward the lower yasawas and the wind machine! as any half-wit can see from glancing at a map, the lightish SE trade winds that plague fiji get wrapped around the top of the islands accelerating as they do so, and then get exhausted out at spot X of the yasawas as a double velocity NE.

like any sensational tropical island group teeming with kiting options - the more goons that stay away the better as far as i'm concerned.

i have also had many years experience doing business with the self-styled warren francis and whilst i have never visited his island hideaway, can report that although he gives every appearance of being an absolute noddy, a queer and a criminally insane spanker, he is actually just an average australian.

Like I said, Fiji can be awesome, especially if you jump on a yacht and head out to the Ysawas. But my camel humping friend and drinking buddy chicken legs, my point was only don't go to Rakiraki, cause it would be like going to kite lake pupuke when you could have gone to Orewa in 20 knots perfect sideshore and hang out with lee.
