ok finally going up wind and doing small jumps.

kiting @ waikanae and its got surf most times. I find that holding edge through chop or when powered up i either lose edge skim down wind like a skipping stone or loose control on wavely slop stuff. I hold good edge in smoothe water just losing it in muck.

so bigger fins? concaved based? wider board? or shit technique?

my foot straps could have been tighter, do people tend to have them way freakin tight so have full positive input?

I've got a decay 137, black plastic fins.

or shit technique?

i reckon thats it.

try this:

keep kite highish so you get pulled over the chop instead of thru it

but try 70% weight on the front foot and get that whole edge in. not just the back part

my ideas might not help since I'm especially heavy.....

but try not to go too fast.....
harbour boosting, sideways buggying, harwood speed gps'ing, sometime kiteskiing, wave/washing machine kiting, gear breaking, driving about chasing the wind....

che 70% on front foot i've been doing the opposite and loading mainly the back foot.

tightened up my bindings too, cut my leg on rails when came out so I'm a bit dodge on coming out now.

but you have to be edging hard or the 70% thing will make you go faster

i think it partly works because of the increased board drag

just plant your ass... that'll slow ya down, then you'll be able to regain your edge.
eastern beach hates my guts because i did a big crap in my wetsuit whilst out there kiting 6 years ago. That's why i'm the most unpopular kiter in NZ. Beast from da east reprazent mutha f#$$%@ers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you keep loosing the edge and ur technique isnt too shit hot, then get a board with a concave bottom. They make a huge difference!

The new Wipika Maurico Pro board from Windscene is a great board and will make a huge difference.

I have a big plank that had crap strap bindings and kept getting spit out of them in the slop, causing big skim offs as mentioned. I bought some better binding on trademe that had a rubber tubing strap to flick up over my heels, problem solved.

The boards so big it will still flatten off if I'm overpowered, you do have to weight the front foot, keep the edge in hard and keep your shoulders and hips turned upwind so the speed doesn't get the better of you...
