Could anyone help me with where to go on the Eastern beaches?
Live in Orakei and find the Pilgrimage across the bridge a bit tedious.

Have found the Tamaki estuary, but not sure about the wind directions needed.

Thanx for any help

There's so many and for just about all directions apart from tru SE. Bramley on a northerly or thermal sea breeze(Farm cove) , Eastern beach (N-E), Pine harbour SW- NW, sandspit (glendowie) on a S-SSW, or check out sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/NorthNZkite/ for a complete wind direction/location table in the database section
If you ain't breaking stuff, you ain't going hard enough!

aklbob is bangon. i have yet to find a spot out this way that works in a true SE. Eastern Beach sorta does but it's gusty.. low tide would be ok though. Other than that we have every other direction covered. Bramley (in northerlies) and Pine Harbour are excellent learner spots, Eastern is also good for learning but not during summer (crowds). There are also a few more epic lesser known flat water spots that are more suited to experienced kiters.

Hey Batwing were you at Bramley yesterday?
eastern beach hates my guts because i did a big crap in my wetsuit whilst out there kiting 6 years ago. That's why i'm the most unpopular kiter in NZ. Beast from da east reprazent mutha f#$$%@ers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could be, but I thought I was at St. Helliers
(just round the corner from Mission Bay)

Did bump kites with someone - mostly my fault for
tailgating to close
SORRY

thanks for the info
