Hi Guys,

Clearwater camp is on from this Friday.

To get there:-

Drive south from Ch-ch on SH1
Cross the Rakaia river and turn right at the Mobile Station
Following the signs drive SW to Mt Somers
Turn inland at the sign marked 'Lake Clearwater'
The road turns to gravel at some point
When you arrive at Lake Camp turn right into the road thru the cabins.

A few hundred meters down the road you will find the camp site and rig up area.

There is a toilet at the camp site and not much else - take all your food, camp gear and remember some warm clothes.

Amended directions: Drive into hills behind ashburton until you come to snow. Drive for another half an hour, or until your your wheels stop goiing around. Camp.

Probablly best to take water too. The lake water, in theory, isn't drinkable and there ain't running water up there.

there's rainwater in the tank between the hall and the very stinky bogs.

but it tastes about as bad as the bogs smell

who needs water when u have speights.....
