Nice pics. My Da called me that day all a-quiver cos he saw you guys out there, and also someone at Warrington (not sure if this was the same day or the next day). He said the wind at Warrington looked to be cross on from the left - and pretty smooth. This sounds promising. Since going to Cairns he is now an avid kitewatcher and where he used to describe us 'some guy out there with a kite looking arrangement' he can now call me up in the middle of my tea and describe to me the finer details of your gear and activities. He also informs me that the water down there is bordering on warm, and he has been out surfing at Karitane, which means it must just about be bath temperature- IS THIS TRUE?????? If so then I'll pack the poly propelene bikini and head on down! Fiji of the South indeed!

ah yes Warrington, the other good beach in a NE, the wind wraps in around the point causing a nice smooth wind zone on the inside.

Quite strange seeing your shadow on the sand when several hundred metres out.

I think Warrington would actually have been the pic of the spots on Saturday but we ended up up the road just for a change.

Warrington sails a bit like Sth Brighton but the wind is a bit more cross and the waves a bit more spread out.

As for the water temp, yeah it's warm now, been using the shortie this week although I kept the winter suit on for the beach in case I had to do a big swim.

Dunno who was out at Warrington.

I'm only taking a shortie, forecast looks good... stable on friday with wind maybe blowing up the lake, at least at first. Then a growing NW which might get grunty by sat night or on sunday.

Dunedin has the best sand and crystal clear water. Colac for a few days from 25 or 26th this month if the wind/swell looks worthy. cya there doof
