Olaf Marting shattered the world speed record at Walvis Bay this October.
The record was held by Frenchman Manu Taub of 40 knots.
This was initially pushed by Siebastien Cattelan to 41.37 knots then Olaf struck with his world record of 41.67 knots.

Olaf was on a North kite and a custom board shaped by Harry Brehm.
The conditions at Walvis Bay were good, Bjrn Dunkerbeck improving his personal best speed on a windsurfer to 44.34 knots.

Looks like Windsurfers are still ahead of the Kites !! But that will change.. lol
