I checked their web site, its pretty messy and very hard to find anything out. But that live pic idea is a really good one.

I was just checking on www.KITEFORUM.COM
and found the following post. So the event sounds like it is cancelled.

Hi all,

Some bad news from the KPWT, we have had to cancel the final stop of this years tour the New Caledonia event due to a lack of funds. One of our major sponsors unfortunately had to pull out. Sorry for the inconvenience and hopefully those heading to New Cal will be able to get out of their bookings on the short notice, if not have a nice holiday.

See you all at next season,

i know someone who's goin to that event in Noumea. The fact that it's cancelled just means that us mere mortals can play longer and have more space. It'll be interesting to hear from Grant what it's like and if the wind turns up (now that there isn't a competition running it'll probably blow 25kt every day  ).

How'd the moose meet go?

i have french friends too - allo allo - but on the whole they're the most contrary bunch of freaks i've ever heard of, or had the misfortune to visit (besides corrupt indonesians, thieving aussies, fascist argentinians, disease ridden thais, officious malaysians, alcoholic russians, anal swiss, infuriating egyptians, toss-off americans, whining poms and a multitude of other wierdos that i can't recall mid rant). i did like the fijians, hawaiians, tahitians, tongans, irish, scottish and the nepalese for some obscure reasons.

but back to the french. take their crimes against our immediate environment for example: undersea nuclear testing and acts of war against our fine country and if that's not enough, beating us at the odd game of rugby. frog eatin losers!

as the saying roughly goes, if it weren't for the french, the world would be alone.

more from the frogs...

KITEBOARD PRO WORLD TOUR 2004
ALCATEL KITESURF PRO
MERIDIEN BEACH NOUMEA NEW CALEDONIA
1/7 NOVEMBER 2004

Sunday, november 7th
For immediate release

End of the Alcatel Kitesurf Pro, final of the 2004 KPWT :
Mickal Fernadez and Gisela Pulido winners of the event and 2004 KPWT World Champions !!!!

Last day of the Alcatel Kitesurf Pro :more than the end of the event, its also the end of the 2004 KPWT season that we celebrate.

Before the prize giving ceremony, the race direction launched the 2nd round of the Best Tricks contest. Its a total return of the ranking that we attended heat after heat : Antoine Jaubert gained points, and stole the 1st place to Guillaume Mariani. Mickael Fernandez reached the 2nd place; hes followed vy Tom Hbert and Guillaume Mariani in 4th position.

Contrary to the men round, the women ranking of the best tricks contest didnt change from the first session : Fabienne dOrtoli, Sandrine Maunier and Gisela Pulido keep their respective 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

The afternoon was then dedicated to a speed boarder that we organize to satisfy the riders still willing to compete : it was the opportunity to win a race (in 1226) after his bad experience during the speed crossing in the Phare Amde. In the second place Mickal Dinclaux performed a 1125 time, followed by Antoine Jaubert (909) and Mickael Fernandez (905) in the 4th place.

Between all the events composing the Alcatel Kitesurf Pro, the prize giving ceremony is sure to last a bit long, all the more since we are goinf to name the men, women and junior world champions 2004!!!

Here are all the rankings here attached !!!

- Men : Mickal Fernandez (France - RRD)

- Women : Gisela Pulido (Spain - Airush)

Junior

- Men : Tom Herbert (New Caledonia - Airush)

- Women : Gisela Pulido (Spain - Airush)

To finish, we would like to thank the Alyzea Team who did a great job once again this year ; to all the competitors who gave us some amazing and thrilling shows everyday on the beach and of course to all our the sponsors and partners without whom the event couldnt have been held!!!!

Thanks to our Title sponsor : Alcatel
