Everyone is owed quite a few tropically warm easterlies this year
interesting that www.buoyweather.com shows nothing but easterlies around jaffaland right now.

bettor make the most of it. According to the weather guru's we are set for another elnino weather pattern which equals lots of w and sw winds all summer long. Yay for Aucklands kite beach---MURIWAI.

elnino - ah well, now I have no reason to be dissapointed and am stoked as always to be 40mins from the west coast living on the east coast.

Did you know there is a very large beautiful sand duned beach facing directly west out to sea (ie steady wind) with flattish water (ie no surf ) and that works at all tides - plenty of soft sandy rigging area - in the Kaipra near Wellsford. 4*4 DOC land, noahs, fishermen, and dodgy old men pissed up attackers 'we dont like those government types' of duck hunters cars aside.

There are a couple more epic similar spots - but with this one you can drive right onto the beach and rig up. Quite a little stunner of a beach on a sunny day - you would never have guessed what it was like until you checked it out.
