I just put another clip up on the www.anabatic.co.nz server.
Now with around 200mb available it is proving much easier to do this than in past years. So the upgrade was worth it.

Even if you have heaps of space on your brand new server does not mean that you have to fill it with the first footages you have.
I think these videos are really useless, lame,... whatever... 20000 miles away from what the
Best Video thingy in the title could have suggested.

Considering the volume of downloads and the number of other servers linking to this footage of NZ riders I know that there is huge interest for this style of filming. you can really tell it is filmed in NZ.

Not everyone is interested in hard core up close trick footage.
heaps of international riders are looking to see a little of the NZ riding environment. The beaches the weather the crew etc.

This particular clip mainly features BEST kites in New Zealand, hence the BEST crew and the BEST footage plug. There is a lot of interest in this new brand too, so its good to give it a showing. i have stacks of other footage about to come out too. Gavin and Mike blasting on Slingshot, Army , kent etc ripping on NAISH. I have heaps of styles covered.

if you notice how this clip was filmed you can see the whole beach is in a pan shot, then wide shots of the bay with all the kites out.

From this a potential tourist can see that the NZ beaches are uncrowded. Many European beaches are covered in oily fat sun bathers or hundreds and hundreds of kites. I really like to promote NZ to the world and this is a medium I can do it for little cost. Ask your self how many French, South African and UK kiters are living here for these very reasons.

Negative coments like yours make potential camera people feel less like filming the crew. So we will see less of YOU!

The other wee clip of Joel and his one foot kick had a huge responce. It inspired riders to push themselves to try the same move.

So take it from me, everyone gets their own buzz out of kiteboarding. What you like will not change my filiming or publising style.
I don't humour negative people well.

We have a really friendly crew here in Auckland and I enjoy filming them as well as riding with them. But the next Peter Jackson i am not.

Lee the part about South Africans living here for the kite surfing may be slightly inaccurate. With about 3000km of quality kite surfing spots along the coast.. I would hardly call SA crowded..

Crowded kite surfing spots are areas that are limited to areas with onshore conditions and beaches with little room. Neither of these are a factor in many of the countries you have mentioned, especially South Africa. Its not surprising that Aaron Hadlow who has recently won the world title, spends 6 months of the year living and training in Cape Town and the other half in Europe.

The French have some of the best kite surfers in the world and known for perfect kite surfing conditions.

I think what Alexb was referring to, may have been 20meg video file that was all filmed in your car, in the rain, with the windscreen wipers on.. I did find that amusing.. however in saying that, its nice to see you are taking the time to film the guys out on the water. I know Ian C and Mike from Shoal Bay have recently bough Digital Cameras. Hopefully this summer we can produce a DVD that we can all have a few beers and laughs over. In years to come we can all look back and piss our selves at how funny the old, new or best kites looked.

I hear its good there for kiting, but its not as safe to visit as NZ eh!
hey I'm just going on what my SA friends say. beautiful country all the same. but anyway I was actually talking about the crowded European spots, not the uncrowded ones

the point I was making was just...

I dont care if you are South African, New Zealander or from Outer bloody Mongolia. If a guy gets off his arse and shoots some footage of his local beach and says hey you can have a look for nothing. For Christ sake get off his back dont like it dude dont watch it!
The trouble with this site and kiteboarding in general there are too many prima-Madonnas who ridicule anything that anyone does unless it involves them, thier mates or some twisted idea of right and wrong.

The trouble with this site and forums in general that there are too many anonymous posters. Everyone knows the internet is full of complete wank - but at least if you can authenticate yourself you got some credibility. The alternative is matching up logged IP address's to the IP addresses contained in the email routing data of emails you 'suspect' in your inbox - that could be really funny.
But then again people love a good flame as the stats show...

Good on Lee for trying to promote NZ kiting. Guys like Lee and Madness do great jobs at making vids and to be honest i'd rather see some grassroots local kiters that i know pullin some moves, even if the move doesn't quite come off as intended.... than sponsored guys in bloody Caberette and shit doin some pro crap. I've seen enough of those videos and to be honest they are boring. I'd far rather see some homegrown stuff at Shakers, Eastern, Orewa, Stonefields or whatever and Lee and Madness are doin just that and doin a darn good at it too!

As for people coming to NZ from other kiteboarding countries.... I'm sure for every kiter moving from Capetown to Auckland there is a kiter movin from Auckland to Capetown. Some of it is dependant on conditions but there are many other reasons why a kiter will move to another country or city. I'm sure the South Africians that come over to NZ do NOT come over because of the conditions!!!! Definately not from Capetown to Auckland that's for sure!!!!!
