Does anyone know if its prohibited or not to kite at Hobson Bay, in between Parnell and Orakei??

Been doin some Internet search but didnt find anything bout it.

I live just in front of it and everytime its windy and hight tide I wanna give it a try but never knew if it was allowed or not.

Hey Dude, I worked in Parnell last year and looked out over that bay. I also wondered too about kiting in the bay and thought about where the best place to launch would be. And then there is the train line. Will be great as a stunt to jump the train... however that would most likely invoke a ban.

As far as my knowledge goes, there is no area in NZ that is under any kind of Kitesurfing ban.

Im from Europe, no so used with NZ rules yet, and there we have some area that are prohibited to sail/kite etc.
So if there is no restriction...all good!!

I wont try the train stuff!!lol
Better to behave, there is houses and stuff.

There is a large clean place, a view point I think, to inflate the kite etc.
For launching, need to be on the water, away from the shore but as its very flat water and shallow...should be a peace of cake.

Of course it needs the high tide, there is hardly more than 60cm of water and thats why I always wanted to give it a try...plus I live 3min away walkin^^
