Decided half an hour ago to skive off from work to get a cheeky session in at Shoal Bay before the tide disappeared. Parked the car on the sand bar, pumped up the 7 metre, then walked out from behind the car with the kite. Had immediate second thoughts about the advisability of going out given the way the kite was trying to flap all its stitches loose. Having stood there for 5-10 minutes considering the scenario, noting the real big flag at the Warehouse buliding over the other side of the motorway was trying to fly away from its pole, and being on my lonesome, I figured I'd wait for the arvo. Windsurf.co says it was only gusting to 25knots, but it felt more like 35.
