Hi Neil,

Haven't used a Dynabar, but have been using a PLK pivot bar for many years - and have one in demo in Ruakaka if you would like to try it.

We usually have then in stock for $140 - can have the ends made to suit any harness.

I'll try and track a picture down for you.

Cheers

What is does is pivot - the hook moves left and right to follow the power of the kite. It keeps the load close to your body and is a dream to ride toeside esp in waves.

The dynabar to me looks like the same concept made WAY more complicated.

Only down side is having to replace a return spring every couple of years.

I have a modified/rebuilt version of a PL spin/swivel bar and it pivots from the center of the spreader. Monday was my first time out on a normal spreader and riding toe-side was actually hard work by comparison. Kept getting pulled downwind because the load keeps wanting to untwist you and the pressure is transferred to your stance.

The spinning feature just allows you to untwist easily but you have to leash to the hook to enable it else you get the leash-line twisted around the whole lot. I keep a shorter leash for this to keep the setup tidy. Only problem you may have with the spinning hook is when re-hooking it can often point any way but down meaning you have to look at it most of the time.

The dynabar takes it a step further allowing the hook to slide to the corners too so you can ride even more 'twisted' the normal. Looks like a lot of wearable/replaceable parts though. Due to the bungies the hook always resets to the same position. The spectra line version looks a bit more versatile and hard wearing. May be tempted to build me on like that some time.
