I was hoping peoples could give me a heads up on the a-typical wind for Kari Kari over Christmas. I have some friends coming over from the UK with kit and I'm guessing that all they would need are 9m's (if lucky) and upwards....?

Mate you really need full kit. Wind can be anything from light to nuclear. If a tropical cyclone comes through at that time of year (fairly regular occurence) you will need a 7. I have kited there for many of the last summers and use a 12 most often.
I can almost guarantee that you will ride 5 out of 7 days though.

I was thinking about going up north for a kitesurfing camp after Christmas but I don't know anyone kiting cause I am a beginner at the moment except some mates around Auckland but they won't be around at this exact moment!
I heard that they was people going to rangiputa every year after christmas, is there something organized or is it totaly roots stuff??
