i crashed at pt'chev today doin a raily grab,it wasnt a big impact i hardly made a splash but i landed on my hip and now i can hardly move,so is kiteboarding only for the young ,not the young at heart,oouch...

just unlucky - you heal and get back out there! Heard point shite had more wind than west coast today.

I find quite the opposite true for me. kitesurfing is easier on the body that my other sports!. Fall off on the landboard or skate board or mountain bike and it will hurt. on the water chances are yourl be fine.

ps most of the guys round here that rip are easily in theres late 40's early 50's. The old diggers definatly got some tricks up there sleaves!

Your never to old we have a 69 year old legend rider up here who rocks it as hard as the best of us,hope i can go as hard when i'm that age.

Depends on how hard you kite.
One handed raileys are pretty hard on the body, especially the shoulders.

I got a new hip 3 months ago (osteo-arthritis) and the specialist banned me from high impact sports for 6 months. After a couple of months of wasting away I thought bugger it I need exercise so took on a kite-boarding trip to Samoa. 10 days of heat and kiting almost every day was amazing, the muscles are now back to full strength and the extra flexibility is great. I can feel things seizing up again in rainy old NZ and from sitting down all day. Keep moving and stretching

There are a number of old rippers out there, kiting is certainly less demanding on the body that windsurfing or snow-boarding.
