Hi, I am just getting back into the sport after having a few years of due to havcing a couple of kids, I used to have a 12mtr crossbow1, I have just bought a 10mtr Switchblade IDS. And am just wanting to say hi and hopefully meet up with a few people at the beach some time.. I still class myself as a beginner but am quite confident with flying the kite and can get up on the board and ride. The only thing that gives me the spoooks is launching and landing these bad boys, So would preferably like someone to launch and land me as im not confident with self launching/landing. I used to kite at pine harbour or eastern beach mainly....with MarkT and Grant with the camper...Are those guys still around? Im 32 and have come from a windsurfing background, infact still have windsurfing gear for days when its really nuking...ie not beginner kiting winds..Anyway hopefully I will catch up with a few people at the beach.

Hey yeah you will be fine, Mark Tucker and Grant are still around, you will always find mark and grant at eastern in a good easterly. Plenty of new Folks too. Its got even better with kites being more stable and easier to use.

Good to have you back
Dan

Nice one mate, might see you around the Eastern beaches or about the place on the weekends. Normally head out just myself so always happy to help others launch so give us a yell if you're heading out.

thanks guys, yeah, cool to be getting hooked into a kite again. Hopefully I pick up where I left off....Now I have a question....With the new cabrinha IDS kites, Do I need a saftey leash? Or does the "absolute depower" line act like a saftey leash. because once you activate the main quick release, the kite is just flagging on the front lines like a 5th line setup. Then if you want to completely disconnect you pull the secondary quick release. Im thinking the saftey leash is used for unhooked riding more....otherwise its just a third release to think about if the shit hits the fan.....Or have i got it completely wrong
